The work order on the tractor Parcel and hours automatic Even without coverage

Custom app for registering contractor work tickets

An agricultural contractor drives from customer to customer and from parcel to parcel. What was done, for how long, with which machine and how much product or manure has to go on the work order for invoicing and the farmer's records. Today that is often done on paper or from memory in the evening. Appfront builds an app for the tractor that recognises the parcel, tracks the time and lets you complete the work order on the spot, even where there is no coverage.

What is an app for recording contractor work orders?

An agricultural contracting business works for dozens or hundreds of customers. For each job, a driver takes a machine to one or more fields to plough, sow, spray, spread manure or harvest. For the invoice, it has to be clear what was done, for how long, with which machine and how much. And the customer needs that data for their own records of fertiliser and crop protection.

Paper is awkward on a tractor. Job slips get lost, are filled in at night, or only reach the office at the end of the week. Times are estimated, and with a job covering several fields, you can no longer see what was done on which field. At the office, retyping takes time, and a missing slip is an invoice that never gets sent.

We build custom software because contracting businesses differ: which jobs they do, which machines they run, how jobs are allocated, and which system at the office processes the slips. The app connects to that system, so every slip is at the office straight away.

How we build your app for recording contracting job slips

We start with your business: which jobs, which machines, how jobs are currently allocated, how slips reach the office, and which system processes them. We often start with the job on the driver's phone or tablet and the recording of time and field, because that is where most gets lost. Quantities, products, photos and the integration with the office follow. We test the app on the tractor before the season starts.

Why Appfront for your app for recording contracting job slips?

A lost slip, or times estimated after the fact, cost a contracting business revenue and leave the farmer with records that don't add up. That is what we build on: the job slip on the tractor, time and quantity recorded during the work, and every slip at the office straight away.

No paper

The slip in the app.

Accurate hours

Recorded, not estimated.

Faster invoicing

Slip straight to the office.

Security and privacy for an app for recording contracting job slips

The app contains data about customers, fields, jobs and drivers. Access is set up per role, a driver only sees their own jobs, and every slip is recorded with time, location and name.

The data is stored in a European data centre, with encrypted storage and daily backups. We set out the processing in a data processing agreement.

Frequently asked questions about an app for recording contracting job slips

Questions that agricultural contractors ask before getting started.

The app puts the job on the driver's phone or tablet, recognises the field on site, tracks the time and records what was done, with which machine and how much product or manure. The completed work order goes straight to the office.

At the office, jobs are planned, work orders checked and invoices created. The app is for the driver on the tractor: filling in the work order while the work is being done. Both work with the same data.

Yes. Jobs and field boundaries are stored on the device, and everything the driver records is saved and synchronised as soon as there is a signal again. Even in the middle of a polder with no coverage, the app works as normal.

Yes, if you want that. The customer signs on the screen, or receives the work order by email. That way there is no discussion afterwards about what was done.

Yes. What was done per field, such as fertilising and crop protection with product and quantity, can be sent to the farmer, by email or via an integration with the farmer's own registration system.

Yes. Jobs come from the system you plan in, and completed work orders go back for checking and invoicing. Which system that is and how the integration works, we look at in the first step.

Check that first. Some packages have an app. Custom development makes sense if that app doesn't work without a signal, doesn't fit your type of work, or if work orders still end up on paper.
