Infringements across the whole fleet Cause in planning or with the driver Reports per branch and per customer

Custom driving time analysis and infringement reporting software

A breach of the driving and rest time rules is rarely just the driver's mistake. The cause often lies in the planning, a fixed route or a customer where loading overruns. Appfront builds software that analyses the tachograph data of the whole fleet, shows infringements by type, cause and trend, and produces reports for management, branches and customers, including for agencies that do this for multiple carriers.

What is driving time analysis and infringement reporting software?

Driving time analysis means checking tachograph data against the driving and rest time rules in Regulation (EC) 561/2006. Infringement reporting is what comes next: summarising the results so that someone can act on them. At the level of a single driver, that is a conversation. At company level, the questions are: which infringements occur most often, on which routes and at which branches, and are they decreasing?

The regulation places part of the responsibility on the employer. Under Article 10, the employer must organise work so that drivers can comply with the rules, instruct them and check this regularly, and the company is liable for infringements by its drivers. A separate list of infringements per driver does not show that. If you can demonstrate that you recognise patterns and adjust the planning, you are in a stronger position during an inspection and you prevent the next infringement.

We build custom software because the questions differ from company to company. A carrier with three branches wants to see them side by side, a company with regular customers wants to know where loading overruns, and an analysis agency wants a separate report for each client in its own house style. The software reads the data from the source you already use, and calculates and reports the way you want.

How we build your driving time analysis and infringement reporting software

We start with your questions: who reads the reports, which infringements cost you the most, how your depots and trips are organised, and where your tachograph data comes from today. Then we integrate with your download solution and your planning system, so infringements appear alongside the trips. We often start with the monthly report for management, because that is where the biggest blind spot is. Root cause analysis and reports per depot or customer follow if that goes well. After that, we keep the software up to date as rules or your organisation change.

What driving time analysis and infringement reporting software actually does

The components below appear in almost every driving time analysis and infringement reporting software. Which ones you need depends on your fleet and organisation.

Compliance check

Against driving and rest times.

Infringements by type

With severity and number.

Root cause analysis

Alongside trip and planning.

Trends

Per month and depot.

Reports

For management and customers.

Dossier

What you have done.

Who we build driving time analysis and infringement reporting software for

The software is intended for organisations that want to manage driving times at company level, not just per driver. The larger the fleet or the more customers, the more it delivers.

Large hauliers

Many drivers. Patterns matter.

Multiple branches

Compare side by side.

Analysis firms

Many customers. A report per customer.

Shippers with their own transport

Not a transport office. Still responsible.

This page is about analysis and reporting across the whole fleet. For following up infringements per driver, with driving times alongside working hours and pay, see our page on tachograph analysis and driving time software; for the data download itself, our page on the tachograph analysis app; and for the haulier as a whole, our page on transport software. Why Appfront for your driving time analysis and infringement reporting software?

A list of infringements per driver says nothing about the cause, and a report nobody reads changes nothing about the planning. That costs a haulier fines, conversations that keep covering the same ground, and a weak position during an inspection. That is what we build on: infringements across the whole fleet, with the cause alongside, and reports that reach the right people.

Tackle the cause

Not just the driver.

Fewer infringements

Trend visible per month.

Strong at inspections

Demonstrably organised.

Security and privacy in driving time analysis and infringement reporting software

The software processes data about drivers, their working and rest times and their infringements. That is personal data, and infringements are sensitive. Access is set up per role and per depot, a customer of an analysis firm only sees their own data, and every access is logged.

The software runs in a European data centre, with encrypted storage and daily backups. We record the processing in a data processing agreement, and do not keep data longer than necessary.

Frequently asked questions about driving time analysis and infringement reporting software

Questions that hauliers and analysis firms ask before getting started.

Tachograph analysis software focuses on the driver: discussing and signing off the infringement, driving times alongside working hours and pay, and the remaining driving time for planning. This software looks across the whole fleet: which infringements occur most often, where the cause lies, and how it develops per depot and per month. They can be built together.

The driving and rest time rules from Regulation (EC) 561/2006 and, for transport outside the EU where applicable, the AETR agreement. These include daily and weekly driving time, breaks, and daily and weekly rest. When the rules change, we adjust the checks.

By setting the infringement alongside the trip, the customer and the planning. If the same infringement keeps recurring on the same trip or at the same loading location, the cause probably doesn't lie with the driver. That is not an automatic verdict, but a pointer to where you should look.

From the solution you currently use to read driver cards and vehicles, via an integration or an export of the files. If you don't have a download solution yet, we'll first look at the app on our other page. We'll look at which route is available in the first step.

Yes. Each haulier is a separate client with its own data, its own reports and, if required, its own portal. The bureau sees all clients side by side and can choose per client which report is sent when, in the bureau's own branding.

The software shows how you organise compliance: which infringements occurred, what was done about them and what the trend is. In a digital inspection, you supply the card and vehicle unit files yourself via MijnILT; the software helps you put together the right period. That is no guarantee of the outcome of an inspection, but it is supporting evidence that a standalone list doesn't provide. For legal questions, we refer you to your adviser or trade association.

For hauliers with a large fleet or multiple branches, logistics service providers with their own transport, analysis bureaus and accountancy firms that do this for hauliers, and shippers with their own vehicle fleet. If you have a handful of drivers and discuss every infringement in person, the standard reporting of your download package is often enough.
