Custom iBabs integration development
Appfront builds integrations with iBabs, the meeting platform that many municipalities and other organisations use to run their governance and decision-making. Agendas, documents and decisions are all held there, for board members, councillors and clerks alike. We connect iBabs to your case management system, document management or website, so documents are not re-keyed by hand and decisions flow back to where they belong.
What is an iBabs integration?
iBabs is a platform for meetings and decision-making. Board members, councillors and staff find agendas, meeting documents and decisions in one place, along with their own notes. Many municipalities use it for board and council information. iBabs has an API, and there are integrations with other systems, for example to make documents from a case management system available for a meeting.
A meeting document usually originates in the organisation's case management or document management system. Without an integration, it is exported, converted and manually placed in the right meeting in iBabs. A decision from the meeting is then sent back by email to whoever has to carry it out. And anyone who wants to publish council information on their own website maintains a second overview.
We build custom integrations because every organisation is different: which case management or document management system you use, how your meetings are set up, and what needs to be published publicly. Which integration options iBabs offers for your situation, we will examine in the first step, together with you and iBabs. What may be published and how long documents are retained follows from the rules that apply to your organisation.
Documents without manual transfer
Documents from your case management system go to the right meeting and the right agenda item in iBabs.
Decisions flow back
Decisions and decision lists return to the case management system, filed against the case they belong to.
Public where it needs to be
Public meetings and documents on your own website, without a second listing.
How we build your iBabs integration
We start with your decision-making process: which meetings, which case management system, how documents currently reach iBabs, and what happens to decisions. Often the hardest part is linking a document to an agenda item. We agree on fixed rules for this, so that a document automatically ends up in the right place. We record these agreements with the clerk's office and the people who create the documents, so everyone knows how it works.

Technology and integrations
This page is about integrations with iBabs. For custom meeting software, see our page on meeting management software; for case-based working, see our page on a custom case management system; and for municipalities in general, see our page on software for municipalities. You can read about our way of working at software development.
Why choose Appfront for your iBabs integration?
A document that is transferred by hand can end up in the wrong meeting or go missing altogether. That is why we build for the opposite: documents that need no manual transfer, decisions that return to where they belong, and public information without a second overview to maintain.
Less manual work
Documents flow into iBabs automatically.
Decision actioned
Back to the case.
Transparent
Public information on your site.
Security and privacy in an iBabs integration
The integration processes meeting documents, some of which are confidential. Confidential documents remain within the protected environment, access credentials are stored encrypted, and every exchange is logged.
The integration runs in a European data centre or in your own environment, with encrypted storage and daily backups.
Frequently asked questions about an iBabs integration
Questions that clerks' offices and committee secretariats ask before getting started.
A platform for meetings and decision-making, where board members, councillors and staff find agendas, documents and decisions, along with their own notes. Many municipalities use it for board and council information, and other organisations with a board also hold their meetings in it.
Yes, including with case management systems. If your system is among them, a custom integration is often unnecessary. A custom integration is for systems that are not on the list, or if you want more, such as decisions sent back to the case or information published on your own website.
Through the integration options iBabs provides, such as the API. Which route suits your systems and which data can move in and out, we will examine in the first step, together with you and iBabs.
Through fixed agreements on how a document in the case management system is linked to a meeting and agenda item. The integration follows those agreements, and reports when a document cannot be placed. That way the clerk's office sees which documents are still missing before the meeting, rather than only when a councillor asks.
Yes, provided the route allows it. After the meeting, a decision or list of decisions goes back to the case, so whoever must carry it out can see it. This also means the case management system later shows which decision was taken on a case.
Yes. Public meetings, agendas and documents can be shown on your own website, without anyone maintaining a second overview. You decide what is public. Residents find information where they look for it, and the clerk's office maintains a single source.
