Custom app for assistive device replacement periods
Appfront builds software for municipalities, health insurers, care providers and suppliers of assistive equipment: for each client, which wheelchair, mobility scooter, patient lift or adaptation they have, since when, with which technical or policy replacement period, and when a reassessment of the situation is due. So that a replacement doesn't come into view only once the equipment is broken, and a request isn't refused because the period hadn't yet expired without anyone knowing.
What is an app for mobility aid replacement terms?
A mobility aid doesn't last forever. A wheelchair, mobility scooter or shower chair has a technical lifespan, and many providers apply a term within which they generally do not replace the aid unless the client's situation changes. An app for replacement terms keeps track, per client, of which aid they have, since when, and when replacement or a new consultation is due.
Without such an app, the provision date sits somewhere in a case management system, and no one knows which aids are reaching their term this year. A client requests a replacement, and the case worker has to work out when the previous aid was provided. A supplier repairs a mobility scooter for the third time when replacement would have been cheaper. And a client whose situation has changed is left with an aid that no longer suits them, because no one raised it early.
We build custom solutions because the terms and rules differ by provider: which types of aids you provide, which terms you apply and when exceptions are made, whether aids are owned or on loan, which case management system and suppliers you use, and how messaging with providers runs. A case management system knows the request; the lifecycle of the aid afterwards rarely does.
Aid per client
Per client, the aids with type, provision date, ownership or loan status, supplier and the associated term, updated with every change.
Terms ahead
A list of aids reaching their term in the coming period, with the option to contact the client for a reconsideration or to prepare the replacement.
Replacement with justification
A replacement request with the aid's history, repairs and assessment, so that the decision is well founded.
How we build your app for mobility aid replacement terms
We start with the inventory: how many aids are out there, of which types, and how you currently know which are reaching their term.
Your types of aids, the terms and exceptions, ownership or loan, the case management system and the suppliers.
The file of supplied aids per client in the app, with the lifespans per type and the history of repairs.
The list of approaching lifespans, the reconsideration with the client, and the replacement request with justification.
Integrations with case management systems and suppliers, reporting on replacements and costs, followed by maintenance and expansion.
What an app for replacement lifespans of aids actually does
The components below come up with almost every provider. Which ones you need depends on your types of aids and on how you work with suppliers.
Aids file
For each client, every aid with type, serial number, date of supply, ownership or loan status, and supplier.
Lifespans per type
Technical lifespan and policy lifespan per type of aid, with the exceptions you apply.
Alerts
Aids approaching their lifespan, per case manager or team, with the choice of what should happen next.
Repair history
Repairs and maintenance per aid with costs, so it is visible when replacement is cheaper than repair.
Reconsideration
A conversation or questionnaire about the client's situation, recorded against the aid, with the outcome.
Reporting
Replacements by type and period, repair costs against replacement, and aids that have been in use well beyond their lifespan.
Who we build an app for replacement lifespans of aids for
The app is intended for providers and suppliers where lifespans are currently not monitored, or are tracked by hand.
Municipalities
Aids under the Wmo, supplied through suppliers. Lifespans and reconsideration with the client are the core.
Health insurers and care offices
Aids covered by basic insurance or the Wlz. The justification for replacement and the reporting matter most.
Healthcare providers
In-house aids for residents and clients. The file per location and the repair history are what is needed.
Suppliers
Loan equipment and maintenance across multiple providers. Monitoring per commissioning party is the core.

Why choose Appfront for your app for replacement lifespans of aids?
An aid that fits makes a difference to someone who uses it every day. That is what we build on: knowing what is due, seeing when it is needed, and deciding with the history in front of you.
No surprises
Lifespans are shown ahead on the list. The case manager schedules the conversation before the client calls.
Repair or replace
The repair history per aid shows when replacement is cheaper and better than another repair.
The client in view
A reconsideration captures a changed situation, even when the aid is still technically sound.
Security and privacy in an app for replacement lifespans of aids
The app holds data on clients, their aids and assessments, sometimes health data. Access is set per role: the case manager sees their own clients, the supplier only the aids they manage. Every view and change is logged with name and time.
The app runs in a European data centre, with encrypted storage and daily backups. Data is not kept longer than your policy and the law require.
Frequently asked questions about an app for replacement lifespans of aids
Questions suppliers ask before getting started with this.
It keeps track, per client, of the assistive devices supplied along with their replacement period, flags which ones are approaching the end of that period, supports the review with the client, records the repair history and underpins a replacement request.
The technical lifespan of a type of assistive device and the period you apply as a supplier, along with the exceptions that go with it. Which periods apply is set by your policy or your contracts with suppliers; the app applies them.
No. The request and the decision remain in the case management system. The app tracks the lifecycle of the device and signals when a new step is needed.
Yes, in a dedicated environment. A supplier sees the devices they manage, records repairs and maintenance, and sees which ones are approaching the end of their period.
Repairs and their costs are grouped per device. If costs add up or a device breaks down often, the app shows that replacement may be the better choice.
If your suppliers work through the national messaging traffic, the app can connect to it. We will look at which messages and systems you use in the first step.
Check that first. Some case management systems have a period per supply, which is enough if you supply few devices. Custom development makes sense if you have many devices and suppliers, if repair history and review need to be included, or if suppliers themselves need to be able to update records.
Want to know which devices reach their period this year?
Tell us which devices you supply, which periods you apply and which suppliers you work with. We will show you what the register, the signalling and the review look like.
