Custom app for energy suppliers' GoO administration
Appfront builds an app that records your GO administration from start to finish. You register purchases, sales and transfers per certificate, with the source, country and production period attached. The app sets your customers' consumption against the redeemed certificates, monitors the validity period and logs every booking with who, what and when. So you no longer have to dig through scattered exports and email threads when the substantiation of your electricity label is requested.
What is an app for the GO administration of energy suppliers?
A GO administration app is software in which you record, per certificate, where it comes from, from which source and production period, who supplied it to you and what you use it for. A guarantee of origin (GO) is issued per megawatt hour of renewable production, can be used only once and expires after twelve months. The app tracks inventory, transfers and redemptions, and links each redemption to the delivery it substantiates.
Without such an app, things go wrong where trading and supply meet. The buyer tracks positions in their own spreadsheet, the supply department only knows the consumption per customer group, and the register only shows what has been booked. Anyone who has to substantiate the electricity label lays those files side by side and only then discovers that a batch of wind certificates comes from the wrong delivery year or has already been resold.
We build custom software because your certificate flow is bound to your own arrangements: which sources and countries you promise for which product, how you distinguish Dutch and European origin in your contracts, which customer groups are accounted for separately and what your trading administration, CRM and invoicing systems are called. We take over your own checks. A generic accounting package has no concept of a production period, a source mix or a redemption against consumption.
Certificate register
Every certificate with its source, country, production installation, production period and expiry date. Purchases, sales, transfers and redemptions are recorded as events under the same number, so the history can always be traced.
Redeeming against consumption
Consumption per customer group and period is imported from your supply administration. The app calculates how many certificates are needed, which ones qualify and what is still outstanding.
Substantiation and reporting
An overview per product, customer group and period of the certificates used and the source mix, with the underlying bookings beneath. Exportable as substantiation for your electricity label and your accountant.
How we build your app for the GO administration of energy suppliers
We start with the file in which you currently track your positions and with the latest export from your register portal.
We walk through who buys, who redeems and who accounts for it at your company. Along the way we note which sources and countries you promise per product and which checks you currently do by hand.
Products, customer groups, counterparties, production installations and source types go into the app. Your existing files are imported, including the positions and redemptions that are already in the register.
Recording transactions, confirming transfers, importing consumption, and preparing and checking redemption rounds. The app flags double use, certificates that are about to expire and products whose coverage is falling short.
We build integrations with your trading administration, CRM and invoicing, set up the reports and take over management of the app, with logging of every booking and a fixed point of contact.
What an app for the GO administration of energy suppliers actually does
The components below feature in almost every GO administration. Which ones you need depends on the energy carriers you supply and on whether you also trade yourself.
Certificate inventory
Inventory by source, country, production period and expiry date, showing which positions are committed to a product and which are still free.
Transactions and transfers
Purchases, sales and transfers to or from a counterparty, with reference, confirmation and the account balance in the registry.
Redemption rounds
Consumption by customer group and period set against the redeemed certificates, with a proposal for which certificates to use and a check for you to confirm.
Expiry monitoring
Alerts for certificates approaching the end of their validity, so you use or sell them before they drop out of your inventory.
Electricity label substantiation
Source mix per product and per delivery year, built from the actual redemptions, with the bookings attached for the regulator and the auditor.
Audit trail and roles
Every change is logged with user, timestamp and previous value. Trading, delivery and control have their own permissions, so nobody approves their own booking.
Who we build a guarantees of origin (GoO) administration app for energy suppliers for
The software is intended for organisations that work with renewable energy certificates and where purchasing, delivery and accountability currently sit with different people in different files.
Energy suppliers
Delivery and trading have to line up for the electricity label. The redemption round against consumption per customer group is the part that matters most here.
Traders and intermediaries
Positions change quickly and are resold. Transactions, transfers and reconciliation with the registry balance are the core of the administration here.
Energy collectives and cooperatives
Members want to see that their own generation ends up with them. Allocating certificates per installation and per member is central here.
Large consumers and producers
Here, certificates are part of sustainability reporting and of the annual accounts. Substantiation per source and period, with a watertight audit trail, matters more than trading volume.

Why Appfront for your guarantees of origin (GoO) administration app for energy suppliers?
A certificate administration is only as good as the booking beneath it. That is what we build on: every number traceable, every redemption linked to a delivery, every change visible.
Traceable to the certificate
With us, a report line can always be clicked through to the certificates beneath it, with source, country and production period. That saves searching as soon as someone asks for substantiation.
Built around your own product agreements
Which source belongs to which product and which customer group is accounted for separately differs per supplier. We capture those agreements as rules in the app, not as a work instruction alongside it.
Integrations instead of retyping
Consumption, invoicing and trading positions come from the systems where they already live. That removes the round of files in which figures are emailed from department to department.
Security and privacy in a guarantees of origin (GoO) administration app for energy suppliers
The app holds trading positions, counterparties, contract terms and consumption data per customer group, sometimes traceable to a connection point. Access is role-based: purchasing sees positions, supply sees consumption, and audit sees everything but changes nothing. Every entry is logged. We set retention periods to match your statutory record-keeping obligations and what your accountant requires.
The software runs in a European data centre, with encrypted storage and daily backups. Integrations with your registry portal, trading administration, CRM and invoicing system use their own keys, which can be revoked per integration.
Frequently asked questions about an app for the GoO administration of energy suppliers
Questions that energy suppliers and traders ask before they start.
For each guarantee of origin, the app records where it comes from, from which source and production period, and what happens to it: in stock, transferred, sold or cancelled. It also matches your customers' consumption against the cancelled certificates and provides the supporting evidence per product and period.
No. Issuance and official booking remain with the registry of the issuing body, which in the Netherlands is VertiCer, formed from the merger of CertiQ and Vertogas. The app is your own administration alongside it: positions, contract terms, customer groups and cancellation rounds, with the registry balance alongside for checking.
We import the exports from your portal and compare them with your own balance, so differences are visible immediately. Where a direct integration is available, we build it. Logging in stays with the person who holds the right authorisation, because access to the portal runs via eHerkenning.
Yes. In the Netherlands, guarantees of origin are issued for several renewable energy carriers: electricity, heat, green gas and hydrogen. We set up the app for the carriers you supply, with the unit, source types, counterparties and reporting rules for each carrier. That saves you a separate administration and a separate file for each energy carrier.
Each certificate has one number and one status. As soon as it has been cancelled or transferred, the app blocks a second booking. Before a cancellation round, the app checks that all proposed certificates are still valid, still in your possession and not yet committed to another product.
Suppliers publish an electricity label on their website every year and must support the stated origin with certificates. The app builds the source mix per product from the actual cancellations and supplies the underlying bookings. You don't have to reconstruct the figures afterwards from loose files.
Check that first. If you supply one green product to a small customer base and buy in large volumes, your existing package and a well-kept spreadsheet will take you far enough. Once you have multiple products, source agreements, customer groups and energy carriers, you run into fields that such a package doesn't have.
Do you want to be able to show your source mix and cancellations in a single overview?
Tell us which products you supply, how you currently track your positions and who runs the cancellation round at your company. We'll show you what the certificate register, the cancellation round against consumption and the supporting evidence for your electricity label look like in a custom app.
