Custom concession settlement app for department stores
A brand with a concession in a department store sells in its own section, but the revenue goes through the department store's till. The department store withholds a commission and pays out the rest later, with a settlement the brand has to check. Appfront builds an app for the brand and its people on the shop floor, showing revenue per day and per department store and comparing the settlement with your own sales.
What is a department store concession settlement app?
With a concession in a department store, a brand has its own section, often with its own staff, but sells through the department store's till. The concession agreement sets out which commission the department store withholds, which costs are passed on, and when the rest is paid out. The brand only sees its revenue properly once the settlement arrives.
That is awkward for the brand. The sales staff on the shop floor know what they have sold, but cannot see the department store's figures. Head office receives a settlement from each department store in its own format, with commission, discounts, returns and costs, and has to check whether it adds up. With concessions in several department stores, that becomes a stack of spreadsheets every month.
We build custom software because concessions differ: which department stores, which data each one provides, your own staff or the department store's, and what the agreement says. The app follows your arrangements, and we look at which data a department store shares in the first step.

How we build your department store concession settlement app
We start with your concessions: which department stores, what data each one provides and in what form, how your sales staff register sales now, and how the settlement is checked. We often begin with importing the revenue and settlements from the department stores, because that shows where the discrepancies are. The shop floor app and the checks follow. That way you quickly see whether the settlements add up.

Why Appfront for your department store concession settlement app?
A settlement nobody checks, or sales staff who only hear about their revenue a month later, cost a brand money and control on the shop floor. That is what we build on: revenue on the shop floor, settlements checked, and all department stores in one overview.

Daily revenue.
Validation
Settlements beside your own figures.

Security and privacy in a department store concession settlement app
The app contains revenue figures, commission agreements and sales staff data. Access is set up per role and store, so a salesperson only sees their own store, and every change is logged.
The data is stored in a European data centre, with encrypted storage and daily backups. We set out the processing in a data processing agreement.
Frequently asked questions about a department store concession settlement app
Questions brands ask before they get started.
With a concession, a brand has its own department in a department store, often with its own staff. Sales go through the department store's till, and the store withholds a commission and pays out the rest in line with the concession agreement.
The app shows salespeople and area managers revenue per day and per store, and sets the department store's settlement beside your own figures. Differences in revenue, commission, returns or costs are flagged, so they can be investigated in good time.
From the department store, which supplies revenue data and settlements per concession holder, and from your salespeople's own sales records. Which data each department store shares, and in what format, is something we look at in the first step.
Yes. The terms of the concession agreement are recorded per department store, and the app calculates what the commission and costs should have been. The difference from the department store's settlement is ready for you to review.
That is what it was built for. Each department store has its own terms and its own format, and the app puts everything side by side. That way you can see, per department store and in total, what you sell and what you receive.
Yes, if you want them to. Salespeople record their sales or their daily revenue in the app, so you can set them beside the department store's figures. Differences then show up sooner than they would in the monthly settlement.
Check that first. An ERP processes the settlement, but it usually doesn't set the data from different department stores beside your own sales. A custom solution makes sense if checks are currently done in spreadsheets, or if the shop floor has no view of revenue.
Returns and discounts from the department store's data are processed according to the terms of the agreement, even if an item is returned to a different branch. That way the commission is based on net revenue, and you can see how much of the differences comes from returns.
