Custom ad invoicing app with agency commission

Appfront builds apps for media owners whose sales staff record advertising orders on the go. The account manager enters an order in the app with the gross rate, the discounts and, where a media agency is involved, the agency commission. The client approves on screen, and the invoice follows with the correct amounts for the advertiser and the agency. You can see at a glance how much commission has built up for each agency.

What is an advertising billing app with agency commission?

An advertising order runs from a gross rate to an invoice amount. Discounts are deducted, such as volume or repeat discounts, and where the advertiser buys through a media agency, the agency often receives an agency commission. Depending on the agreement, the invoice goes to the advertiser or to the agency. Every step has to be right, otherwise you end up with a credit note and an awkward conversation.

In practice, an account manager notes an order with the client on paper or by email, and the office enters it into the system later. An agreed discount gets forgotten. The agency commission is calculated by hand, and sometimes it is applied twice or not at all. The client only sees the amount on the invoice. And nobody knows exactly how much commission has built up for each agency over the year.

We build bespoke solutions because media owners differ: which media, which rate cards and discounts, which arrangements with media agencies, and which systems you use for planning and invoicing. Your rates, discounts and commission rules come from your own terms; the app calculates with them.

Orders right first time

Gross rate, discounts, agency commission and net in one order, calculated according to your rules.

Approval on screen

The client sees the amount and approves it, so the invoice holds no surprises.

Commission per agency

How we build your advertising billing app with agency commission

We start with your sales: which media, which rate cards, which discounts and commission rules, and how an order currently travels from client to invoice. The errors often sit in discounts and commission. We document those rules so the app does the calculating and the account manager only has to make choices.

Security and privacy for an advertising invoicing app with agency commission

The app holds data on advertisers, agencies, rates and revenue. Access is set up by role, and an account manager only sees their own clients.

The app also works on the go with poor coverage, and sends orders as soon as there is a connection. Data is stored in a European data centre, with encrypted storage and daily backups.

Frequently asked questions about an advertising invoicing app with agency commission

Questions media owners ask before getting started.

It lets account managers record advertising orders on the go, with rate, discounts and agency commission, shows the client the amount for approval, produces the order confirmation and invoice as agreed, and tracks commission per media agency.

A fee a media owner pays to a media agency for an order placed through that agency. How high it is and when it applies follows from your terms and your agreements with the agency; the app takes it into account.

That depends on the agreement: to the advertiser, to the agency, or split between them. You record per agency or per order how it works, and the app produces the invoice accordingly.

According to your rules, such as volume discounts for a certain number of placements, or repeat discounts. The app applies them and shows how the amount is reached, so the account manager does not need to calculate it.

The change becomes a new version of the order, with fresh client approval. If it has already been invoiced, a credit note and a new invoice follow, with the correct commission.

Yes, provided they have an interface. The order goes to advertising space scheduling, and the invoice and commission go to accounting.

Check that first. Some advertising sales packages include orders and commission, and they may be sufficient. Custom development makes sense if account managers work on the go, if discounts and commission are currently calculated by hand, or if there are many credit notes.
