Referrals directly in your own system Reports sent back to the referrer Services and waiting times kept up to date

Custom ZorgDomein integration development

Appfront builds integrations with ZorgDomein, the platform GPs and other referrers use to refer patients digitally to care providers. ZorgDomein has integrations with GP systems and many EHRs. For care providers with their own system, or a system without an integration, we build the link: referrals and requests directly in your own system, reports back to the referrer, and your services kept up to date on the platform.

What is a ZorgDomein integration?

ZorgDomein is the platform through which GPs, midwives and other referrers refer patients digitally to hospitals, clinics, mental health services, laboratories, allied health professionals and other healthcare providers. Referrers choose a provider based on services and waiting times, and send a referral or request. The provider receives it and later sends a report or result back. ZorgDomein has integrations with GP systems and with many EHRs.

A healthcare provider with its own system, or with a system not yet integrated, often receives referrals via the ZorgDomein web portal. A member of the administration team reads them there and enters the patient and referral manually into the in-house system. A report for the GP goes back by post or secure email. And the offering and waiting times on the platform are only kept up to date when someone remembers to do it.

We build custom because the integration has to fit your system: which referrals and requests you receive, how your records are set up, which reports you send back and which ZorgDomein interface is the right one. ZorgDomein offers integration variants and test scenarios for integrators; the integration is tested together with ZorgDomein before it goes live. Your staff then work in their own system, without opening the portal separately.

Referrals in your system

Referrals and requests arrive directly in your own system, linked to the patient and referrer.

Reports sent back

Reports and results go back digitally to the referrer, straight from your own system.

Services kept up to date

Your services, information and waiting times on the platform, maintained from your own data wherever possible.

How we build your ZorgDomein integration

We start with your referrals: which ones you receive, how you process them now, which reports go back, and which system you use.

1
Mapping referrals and systems

Your types of referrals, records, reports and information system.

2
Choosing the interface

The ZorgDomein integration variant that suits your system.

3
Build integration

Receiving referrals and sending reports back, linked to the record.

4
Testing and maintenance

Testing against ZorgDomein's scenarios, going live, and maintenance when new versions are released.

What a ZorgDomein integration actually does

The components below appear in almost every ZorgDomein integration. Which ones you need depends on your care.

Receiving

Referrals, diagnostic and advice requests.

Dossier

Patient and referrer linked to your record.

Reports

Reports and results sent back to the referrer.

Status

Status of referrals in your system.

Listings

Offering, information and waiting times on the platform.

Audit log

Per message, what has been received or sent.

Who we build ZorgDomein integrations for

The integration is intended for healthcare providers without an existing integration with ZorgDomein.

Independent clinics

Many referrals from GPs. Receiving them is the core.

Mental health care providers

Referrals with their own intake. The integration with the record matters most.

Diagnostic centres

Requests and results. Sending them back is what is needed.

Care software vendors

An integration within your own product. The interface is the core.

Technology and integrations

This page is about integrations with ZorgDomein. For messages with health insurers there is our page on a VECOZO integration, for EHRs our page on EHR software, and for scheduling after the referral our page on care pathway planning in outpatient clinics. You can read about our approach under software development.

If your region uses the VIPLive platform, see our page on a VIPLive integration.

For applications that need to exchange data with Sanday's GP or pharmacy system, see our page on a Sanday integration.

Why choose Appfront for your ZorgDomein integration?

A referral retyped by hand can end up with an error in the patient details. We build around that: referrals arrive directly in your system, reports go back digitally, and an offering that is accurate.

No manual re-keying

Referrals arrive directly in the record.

The referrer stays informed

Reports go back digitally.

The right choice

Referrers see your current offering.

Security and privacy in a ZorgDomein integration

The integration processes patients' medical data, which is special category personal data. Messages are sent and received encrypted via ZorgDomein's interfaces, access is organised by role, and every message is logged.

The integration runs in a European data centre or in your own environment, with encrypted storage, daily back-ups and two-factor login.

Frequently asked questions about a ZorgDomein integration

Questions that healthcare providers and suppliers ask before they begin.

ZorgDomein is the platform through which GPs and other referrers refer patients digitally to healthcare providers. Referrers choose based on offering and waiting times, and healthcare providers send reports back.

Yes, with GP systems and many EHRs. If your system is already integrated, you don't need a custom integration. A custom integration is for healthcare providers with their own system or a system without an integration.

Through the interfaces ZorgDomein offers, including variants based on HL7 FHIR. We look at which variant suits your system in the first step, together with ZorgDomein.

Yes. A report or result is sent back digitally from your own system to the referrer, linked to the original referral. This means the report ends up in the GP's record, with the right patient, without post or loose email.

Yes. ZorgDomein has test scenarios for integrations. The integration is tested against them, together with ZorgDomein, before it goes live. This is a fixed part of the process. Only once the scenarios have been run successfully does the integration go live for real referrals.

Your offering and information are managed on the platform. Where ZorgDomein allows it, data such as waiting times can be updated from your own system, so referrers always see the correct information. A referrer who sees the current waiting time chooses more deliberately, which saves phone calls at your front desk.

For healthcare providers with their own system or a system without an integration, who currently process referrals by hand, and for care software vendors who want to support ZorgDomein in their product.

Referrals directly into your own system?
