Custom Compenda integration

Compenda is business software for SMEs, with CRM, quotes, projects, time tracking, invoicing and HR in one package, and standard integrations with Exact, SnelStart, Twinfield and Mollie, among others. Anything outside that list, such as your website, your own customer portal, a planning system or an ERP, is often retyped by hand. Appfront builds the integration between Compenda and those systems, so an enquiry arrives as a contact, a project appears in your planning and data is not maintained in two places.

What is an integration between Compenda and your other systems?

A Compenda integration lets Compenda exchange data with the systems you use alongside it. Compenda is developed by Compenda B.V. in Assen and combines customer relationship management, quotes, projects, hours, invoicing and HR. Compenda itself provides the integrations with accounting packages and with tools such as MailChimp and Power BI. A custom integration covers the rest: an enquiry via your website that arrives in Compenda as a contact and sales opportunity, an accepted quote that appears as a project in your planning system, or hours from your own app that land on the right project.

Without an integration, that data is retyped. An office employee copies the enquiry from the mailbox into Compenda, a project manager enters the project in the planning again, and the field staff's hours arrive once a week from a spreadsheet. Every copy is a chance of a typo or a duplicate contact, and anyone who wants to know where a customer really stands has to look in two systems.

We build custom because every combination of systems is different. Whether you use Compenda in the cloud or on-premise, which fields and custom fields you have set up, which systems run alongside it and which side is the source for which piece of data all determine how the integration works. In the first step, together with you and Compenda, we look at which integration options your Compenda environment offers.

How we build your integration between Compenda and your other systems

We start with your systems: how Compenda is set up, which systems run alongside it, which data is currently retyped and by whom. Then we build the first integration, usually the flow that takes the most manual work, such as enquiries from the website or projects going to the planning system. Your team works with it for a while. Other flows, checks for duplicate contacts and reporting follow once that is running well. After that, we maintain the integration whenever Compenda or your other systems change.

Who we build an integration between Compenda and your other systems for

The integration is intended for companies that use Compenda as the heart of their contact management and projects and also have systems that Compenda does not integrate with as standard. The more flows and the more retyping, the more it delivers.

Consultancies

Technology and integrations

This page is about integrations with Compenda. If you work with accounting software, see our pages on the SnelStart integration and the Exact Online integration; if you want a CRM built entirely around your way of working, look at custom CRM software, and for reporting see our page on the Power BI integration. You can read about our approach at building software.

Why choose Appfront for your integration between Compenda and your other systems?

An enquiry that gets stuck in a mailbox, a project missing from the planning system, or a customer who appears twice in the CRM with different details costs a company revenue and oversight. That is what we build on: entering data once, a clear source for each data item, and an integration that shows when something went wrong.

Less retyping

Data comes along automatically.

Reliable

One source per data item.

Visible

Errors in the log.

Security and privacy for an integration between Compenda and your other systems

The integration processes contact details, quotes, projects and hours. It sends only the fields that are needed, uses its own account with exactly the permissions the exchange requires, and records every exchange with time and content.

The integration runs in a European data centre, with encrypted connections. If you use Compenda on-premise, we work out with your IT administrator how the integration reaches your environment securely. Keys and passwords are stored securely and are not visible to staff.

Frequently asked questions about an integration between Compenda and your other systems

Questions that office managers and IT managers ask before they get started.

A connection between Compenda and another system you use, such as your website, a planning system, an ERP or a custom app. Data such as contacts, projects and hours then flows back and forth automatically, without retyping.

Yes, with Exact, SnelStart, Twinfield, Mollie, MailChimp, Payt and Power BI, among others. You simply use those. A custom integration is for systems that are not on that list, or for a flow that the standard integration does not support.

Compenda does not publish public API documentation on its website and also builds custom integrations itself. Which integration options exist for your environment, and under which conditions, we clarify with you and Compenda in the first step.

Yes. How the integration reaches your data differs per environment. We look at this together with you, Compenda and, if needed, your IT administrator before we start.

Before a new contact is created, the integration searches by email address, KvK (Chamber of Commerce) number or another attribute you choose. If the contact already exists, it is updated instead of created again. Doubtful cases end up in a list for a staff member to review.

The integration retries, and puts an exchange that keeps failing in an error list together with the reason. Your administrator can see what went wrong and, once it has been corrected, send it again.

For companies where dozens of requests, projects or timesheet lines move from one system to another every week. If it's only a handful per month, retyping is often cheaper than an integration.
