On one side are your candidates: their CVs, skills, availability, certificates, VOG certificates, hours and payslips. On the other are your clients: ongoing contracts, timesheets awaiting approval, invoices and candidate reports. In between sits your own team, who must match, contract, invoice and run payroll. A standard package handles that up to a point, after which things start to grind.
We build custom when your sector, scale or way of working doesn't fit Easyflex, Otys, Bullhorn or another standard package. For smaller agencies that is rarely the right choice. It does make sense if you run IT secondment with skill matching, operate across multiple branches, want your own client and candidate portal, or need a white-label solution for sister agencies. See also our page on custom software for the broader context.
The audiences these questions matter most to vary widely: IT staffing works with highly qualified profiles on project rates and intensive skill matching; financial and accountancy staffing has seasonal peaks around year-end closing and VAT deadlines; legal staffing involves PE point registration and specialist profiles; technical staffing involves VCA certificates and project staffing in construction and industry; care staffing involves SVB integrations, BIG registration and sector-specific collective labour agreements; and secretarial and administrative staffing involves fast-changing, short-term assignments. A platform designed for one of these worlds rarely fits another well, which is why sector fit is the first thing we look at.
What we encounter in every segment: the standard packages such as Easyflex, Workzone, Bouwmaster, Hellocom, Persmaster, Workchoice, Cobra, Bullhorn and Otys each have their own strengths. Easyflex dominates the SME segment of the staffing market, Bullhorn is strong in IT and financial placement with international ambitions, and Bouwmaster is built for technical and construction-focused staffing. For most placement agencies these packages are a sound choice. But agencies that grow beyond the particular niche a package was built for (multi-branch, sector-specific processes, their own portals, white-label for sister agencies) almost always reach the point where the software starts holding back growth rather than supporting it.
If you work with staff from other EU countries, there is a notification obligation and a valid A1 certificate must be available for each employee. For how to keep track of and monitor this, see A1 notification for posted workers.
