Custom swimming water measurement log software
Appfront builds software for swimming pools and other bathing facilities that want to record their swimming water measurements digitally. For each pool, the daily measurements of free and combined chlorine, pH and clarity are taken at the required moments. A value outside the limits triggers an immediate signal, the corrective measure is recorded, and the logbook is always complete for the environmental authority.
What is software for the swimming water measurement logbook?
Since 2024, the rules for swimming and bathing in pools have been set out in the Activities Besluit (Decree on Activities in the Living Environment) under the Environment and Planning Act. Whoever opens a pool to the public measures daily, among other things, free chlorine, combined chlorine, pH and clarity, both before opening and during opening hours. The measured values and the measures taken go into a logbook that is kept, and special incidents are reported to the competent authority.
In practice, measurements are kept in a notebook or on a form with the technical staff. A measurement gets forgotten on a busy day, and that only becomes apparent when someone looks back through the records. A deviating value is noted, but not what was done about it. During an inspection by the environmental authority, the notebook is leafed through, and for operators with several pools there is no overview of all pools together.
We build custom solutions because swimming pools differ: how many pools there are, what kind of pools, which measuring equipment is used, and how the technical operation is organised. Which measurements and limit values apply to your pools is set out in the Bal (Decree on Activities in the Living Environment); if in doubt, confirm this with the environmental authority or your adviser. The software ensures that measurements are taken and that the logbook is accurate.
Measurements per pool
For each pool, daily measurements are taken at the right times, with a reminder if one is missing.
Deviation with corrective action
A value outside the limit raises an alert, and the corrective action is recorded alongside it.
Ready for supervision
A complete log per pool and period, for the environmental authority and your own checks.
How we build your swimming water measurement log software
We start with your pools: which basins, which measurements, which equipment, and how recording currently works. Where the water treatment measuring and control equipment can pass on values, we use them. Where measurements are taken by hand, we keep entry on a tablet at the pool side as quick as possible.
Your pools, measurements, limits, equipment and organisation.
Measurements per pool at the right times, with limit values.
Alerts for deviations, corrective actions and notable incidents.
Overviews for supervision, retention, and ongoing management.
What swimming water measurement log software actually does
The components below feature in almost every pool. Which ones you need depends on your pools.
Pools
Pools with type and limit values.
Assessments
Chlorine, pH and clarity per time point.
Reminders
An alert when a measurement is missing.
Deviations
Values outside the limit, with corrective action.
Incidents
Notable incidents recorded.
Overview
Per pool and period, for supervision.
Who we build swimming water measurement log software for
The software is intended for anyone who operates a swimming pool or other bathing water.
Swimming pools
Multiple pools per day. The reminders are the core.
Operators
Multiple sites. The overview matters most.
Holiday parks
Few technical staff. Simple data entry is what counts.
Saunas and wellness
Small pools and baths. Deviations are the core.

Why choose Appfront for your swimming water measurement log software?
A forgotten measurement only comes to light when someone scrolls back, and by then it is too late. That is what we build around: measurements per pool with a reminder, deviations with a corrective action, and a log that is ready for supervision.
Nothing overlooked
An alert when a measurement is missing.
Deviation followed up
Every deviation with a corrective action.
Checks without searching
The log per pool and period.
Security and privacy in swimming water measurement log software
The log is a legally required record. Measurements and corrective actions are recorded with time and name, and cannot be altered afterwards without a trace. Access is set up by role.
The software runs in a European data centre, with encrypted storage and daily back-ups. The log is retained for the period that applies to you, and data entry keeps working even if the connection at the pool drops out.
Frequently asked questions about swimming water measurement log software
Questions pools ask before getting started with this.
It records daily measurements per pool, sends a reminder when a measurement is missing, raises an alert when a value is outside the limit, records corrective actions and notable incidents, and produces overviews per pool and period for supervision.
Since 2024 they are set out in the Activities Living Environment Decree under the Environment and Planning Act. Among other things, it sets which parameters are measured daily, at which times, and that measurements and corrective actions must be logged. For what exactly applies to your pools, check with the environmental authority or your adviser.
Yes, provided the measuring and control equipment has an integration or export. The readings then come in automatically. Whether they can replace manual measurements depends on the regulations and on the equipment; you should discuss that with the environmental service.
The software immediately sends an alert to the person responsible and prompts them to record the corrective action. For a notable incident, it is logged separately, so you can show what was reported and what was done.
For as long as the applicable retention period requires; the regulations set a minimum retention period. The software stores the logbook and results, and you can generate an overview for any period.
Yes. Results from the periodic testing by a laboratory are added per pool, either as a file or via an integration with the laboratory. That way, everything about the water in a pool is kept together.
Check that first. Some control systems store measurement values, and that may be enough for continuous monitoring. Custom development makes sense if you also want to record manual measurements, corrective actions and incidents, or bring multiple pools or locations together in one overview.
