Custom software development for a swimming pool's water quality log

Appfront builds software for swimming pools, sports centres, leisure parks, hotels and care facilities with a pool. For each pool it records free and combined chlorine, pH, temperature and clarity at the set times, read from measuring equipment or entered by the pool attendant. If a value falls outside the limits, a notification is raised, the corrective action taken is logged, and laboratory results are recorded. The log is complete when the inspector asks for it, and any deviation is resolved before swimming resumes.

What is software for a swimming pool water quality log?

A swimming pool must have clean, safe water, and this must be measured and recorded. For each pool, chlorine levels, pH and temperature are checked several times a day, and a laboratory takes samples periodically. Water quality log software records these measurements, monitors the limits and produces a log that an inspector can review.

In many pools the measuring equipment works well, but the log is on paper: a list on the wall of the plant room, filled in by the attendant on duty. A skipped measurement goes unnoticed. An out-of-range value is written down, but nobody knows whether anything was done about it. And when the inspector visits, months of lists have to be dug out.

We build custom software because the log has to match your pool: how many pools you have and of what type, what measuring equipment is installed and what data it can pass on, which measurement schedule and limits you apply, which laboratory you work with, and who acts when a deviation occurs. The equipment does the measuring; a log that holds the corrective actions alongside it is a separate piece of work.

Measurements per pool

Each pool's measurements according to the schedule, automatically from the measuring equipment where it can report, or entered by the pool attendant on a tablet.

Deviation with corrective action

A value outside the limits immediately raises a notification to whoever acts, and stays open until the corrective action and the follow-up measurement are recorded.

Log for inspection

All measurements, deviations, corrective actions and laboratory results per pool and period, as an overview for the inspector or your own audit.

How we build your swimming pool water quality log software

We start with the log as it stands today: where it is kept, how complete it is, and what happened the last time a value fell outside the limits.

1
Map the pool and equipment

Your pools, the measuring equipment and what it reports, the measurement schedule and the limits, the laboratory and who takes action.

2
Pools and measurement schedule

The pools with limits and measurement moments in the software, and the integration with the measuring equipment or the tablet for manual measurements.

3
Deviations and corrective actions

Alerts when a limit is exceeded, notification of whoever must act, and the corrective action with a follow-up reading.

4
Laboratory and logbook

Laboratory results, visitor numbers and incidents, the logbook for the inspector, and ongoing management.

What pool water quality logbook software actually does

The components below feature in almost every pool. Which ones you need depends on your pools and your measuring equipment.

Pools and limits

For each pool, the type, the volume, the limit values for each parameter and the measurement schedule, as your policy and the regulations require.

Assessments

Chlorine, pH, temperature and other parameters from the measuring equipment or taken manually on a tablet, with the time and who took the reading.

Measurement schedule

A reminder when a measurement is due, and an alert if one has been missed.

Deviations

A notification to whoever is on duty when a value falls outside the limit, with the corrective action and the follow-up reading until the deviation is closed.

Laboratory

Sampling and laboratory results per pool, with an alert when a result is out of range.

Logbook and reporting

The logbook per pool and period, deviations and how they were handled, and trends in water values and visitor numbers.

Who we build pool water quality logbook software for

The software is designed for baths where the logbook currently hangs on paper next to the measuring equipment.

Municipal and private swimming pools

Multiple pools and many visitors. The measurement schedule and the logbook for the inspector are the core.

Holiday parks and campsites

A bath that is busy in season and managed by changing staff. The reminders and notifications matter most.

Hotels and wellness centres

Small baths, whirlpools and immersion baths. Simple measurements and a complete logbook are what is needed.

Care institutions with a therapy pool

Warm water and vulnerable users. The limits, the deviations and the laboratory are the core.

Why choose Appfront for your pool water quality logbook software?

Anyone who goes into the water expects it to be safe. That is what we build on: measurements on time, a deviation passed straight to whoever must act, and a logbook that is complete.

No missed measurements

The measurement schedule reminds and alerts. A missed measurement is flagged the same day, not at the inspection.

Deviations get resolved

A value outside the limit stays open until the corrective action and the follow-up reading are in place. Noting it down is not enough.

Ready for supervision

The logbook per pool and period is ready to go. The inspector receives an overview, not a pile of lists.

Security and privacy in pool water quality logbook software

The software holds measurement data, staff details and, at times, incidents involving visitors. Access is set up by role: the pool supervisor records, the technical manager sees deviations and corrective actions, and management sees the whole picture. Measurements cannot be changed quietly; any correction is logged with name, time and reason.

The software runs in a European data centre, with encrypted storage and daily backups. The integration with the measuring equipment is kept separate from the control of the water treatment.

Frequently asked questions about pool water quality logbook software

Questions pools ask before getting started with this.

It records readings for chlorine, pH, temperature and other parameters for each pool according to a monitoring schedule, checks them against limits, alerts whoever needs to act when readings fall outside those limits, logs the corrective action and the follow-up reading, records laboratory results, and produces a logbook for the inspector.

For public pools, the Besluit bouwwerken leefomgeving sets requirements for hygiene and safety, including water quality and keeping records of measurements. You determine which limits and measuring frequencies apply to your pools with your adviser and the inspector; the software applies them.

Yes, if the measuring equipment can pass on readings via an integration or export. Measurements are then recorded automatically, and the pool attendant only needs to carry out manual checks. We'll determine which equipment you have in the first step.

The software alerts the person on duty straight away, and the deviation stays open until the corrective action is logged and a follow-up reading shows the value is back within the limit.

Yes. Samples and results are recorded per pool, either imported from a laboratory file or entered manually, with a signal when a result is out of range.

Yes. Every pool, large or small, gets its own limits and monitoring schedule. Reminders are especially helpful for small baths with warm water and changing management.

Check that first. Modern measuring equipment stores values and shows trends, and that is enough if the logbook only needs to contain measurements. Custom development makes sense if corrective actions and follow-up readings are also needed, if manual measurements and laboratory results should sit in the same logbook, or if you manage several pools.
