Custom software for bulb lot sales and stock
Appfront builds software for the office side of bulb lot administration: which lots are available by cultivar and size, how they are allocated to customer orders and contracts, what the stock is worth, and what a lot ultimately yielded. Sales, invoicing and margin per lot come from the same data. Recording lots, sizes, cells and treatments is covered on the page about the app.
What is bulb lot sales and stock software?
In bulbs, everything revolves around the lot: a quantity of bulbs of one cultivar and origin, which after lifting and grading splits into sizes. On the farm, each lot's contents, location and the treatments and inspections it has undergone are recorded. In the office, the focus is on sales: which lots and sizes are available, which customer they are allocated to, and what that yields.
In practice, stock sits in the lot administration and sales in a spreadsheet or another system. A salesperson promises a size that has already been committed to another customer. Before lifting, an estimate is made of how much of each size will come, but that estimate is recorded nowhere. And what a lot ultimately yielded, after storage, treatment and inspection costs, only becomes clear at the end of the season, and then with considerable effort.
We build custom software because businesses differ: which cultivars and sizes, how lots are split and merged, how you contract with customers, which costs apply per lot, and which app, accounting and export systems you use. Which export documents are required is determined with your inspection service and export partners; the software tracks what goes with each delivery.

Why Appfront for your bulb batch sales and stock software?
A size promised to two buyers costs a customer. That is what we build around: batches allocated to orders, stock with value, and a margin per batch that adds up.
No double promises
Every size has one destination.
Stock in euros
What sits in the store has a value.
Knowing what a batch returned
Revenue and costs per batch.
Security and privacy in bulb batch sales and stock software
The software holds data on batches, buyers, prices and margins, which is confidential business information. Access is set by role: a salesperson sees stock and orders, management sees margins.
The software runs in a European data centre, with encrypted storage, daily back-ups and sign-in with a second factor.
Frequently asked questions about bulb batch sales and stock software
Questions bulb businesses ask before getting started.
It shows available stock per cultivar and size, allocates batches and sizes to orders and contracts, produces a forecast per size for lifting, calculates stock value, invoices per delivery, and shows the margin per batch.
The app is for the business itself: creating and splitting batches, sizes, cells, processing, inspections and traceability. This software is for the office: sales, allocation, stock value and margin. They work together on the same batches.
Before lifting, you record the expected yield per size for each batch, based on experience or a trial lift. Sales can commit against that, and after grading the actual quantities are compared with the forecast.
Yes. A batch's size can be spread across multiple orders, and the software tracks how much is still free. A commitment above the available quantity raises a warning.
From the revenue of the deliveries and the costs you record per batch, such as growing, storage, processing, inspection and transport. That way you can see at the end of the season which batches and buyers made money.
For each delivery the software records which inspections and documents belong to it. You determine which documents a country requires together with your inspection service and export partners.
Check that first. Some packages for the bulb sector include sales and stock, and that is enough if your way of selling fits in it. Custom development makes sense if you have your own contracts, forecasts or margin calculations, or if sales and batch administration are currently separate.
