Every load to the right parcel Notifications without entering data twice Application headroom always in view

Custom manure accounting and load registration software

Appfront builds software that tracks a manure load from order to accountability. The planner sets up the load with supplier, recipient, manure code and loading and unloading point. On the tablet, the driver records weight, sample number and time. The office submits the notifications, processes the analysis result and books the amount of nitrogen and phosphate to the right farm. So you no longer have to piece together receipts, weighing slips and spreadsheets afterwards.

What is manure accounting and load registration software?

Manure accounting and load registration software records which manure went from which farm to which destination and when, with weight, manure type, sample number and analysis result. The manure accounts follow from that same registration: inputs, outputs, stock per storage facility and the headroom still available within the application limits for nitrogen and phosphate. One entry, two outcomes: a correct transport document and accountability you can show.

Without such a system, a load lives in three places at once. The planner phones the driver, the driver takes a weighing slip along, and the office retypes it later into a notification portal and again into a spreadsheet. Then a unloading point turns out to be wrong, a sample number is missing, or an analysis result arrives weeks later without anyone linking it to the right load. The corrective work takes more time than the trip itself.

We build custom software because your arrangements aren't built into any standard package: fixed rates per recipient, sampling by an accredited sampler, your own storage locations, farmer-to-farmer transport alongside regular transport, and a weighbridge and on-board computer that have been in service for years. A generic package knows your manure codes, but not your rate agreements, your storage structure or the way you split a load across two parcels. See also our software for arable farming.

Load from order to confirmation

Every load gets a single file: supplier, recipient, manure type, loading and unloading point, weight, sample number, times and status. What the driver records is what the office reports and invoices.

Weights, samples and results

The weighing slip, sample number and laboratory result end up with the same load. The amount of nitrogen and phosphate is then calculated per load and booked to the right farm and the right storage facility.

Accounts and application headroom

Inputs, outputs, opening stock and closing stock per storage facility are all in one place. For each farm you can see how much application headroom remains, not only the following spring.

How we build your manure accounting and load registration software

We start with a week from your schedule and the weighing slips that go with it, including the loads that were split, cancelled or corrected afterwards.

1
Mapping the load flow

We walk through a load from start to finish: who places the order, who loads, who samples, who confirms and who invoices. That is where the exceptions a standard package overlooks come to light.

2
Getting the master data in order

We set up farms, relationship numbers, storage locations, parcels, manure types, rates, drivers and vehicles correctly, once. After that, the planner picks from lists instead of typing them in.

3
The daily work

Planning, dispatching loads, recording loading and unloading on the tablet, preparing notifications, processing results and passing completed loads on to invoicing. Alerts flag what is still incomplete.

4
Integrating and taking over management

We link your weighbridge, on-board computer, reporting portal and accounting system together. After that, we take over management: monitoring, corrections when rules change, and extensions at your pace.

What manure accounting and load registration software actually does

The components below appear in almost every manure accounting and load registration system. Which ones you need depends on whether you transport manure yourself, have it transported, or only account for supply and removal.

Load planning

Plan loads by day, driver and vehicle, with loading and unloading address, manure type and expected quantity. Changes appear instantly on the driver's tablet.

On-the-road registration

The driver records loading, unloading, weight, sample number and photos, even without a signal. As soon as there is a connection, everything arrives at the office.

Weighing and sampling

Weighing tickets and sample numbers belong with the load, not in a separate folder. We link analysis results to the sample and calculate them through to nitrogen and phosphate.

Transport documents

You prepare notifications before, during and after transport from the load data. Missing fields and outstanding confirmations appear in a single task list.

Stock and application limits

Per storage facility and per farm, you see supply, removal and stock, and how much room is left within the nitrogen and phosphate limits.

Invoicing per load

The software turns rates per customer, per tonne or per kilometre into invoice lines. Completed loads go to your accounts as a journal entry.

Who we build manure accounting and load registration software for

The software is designed for businesses in the manure chain where every load is both a trip and an accountability record.

Manure brokers and hauliers

Here everything revolves around turnaround time per load and complete notifications. The core is on-the-road registration, so the office never has to phone anyone to chase details.

Agricultural contractors

Manure transport sits alongside groundwork and harvesting in the same planning. The core is a single planning board with vehicles, drivers and hours across all types of work.

Livestock farms

Removal determines whether the application limits are met. The core is the accounting: stock per pit or silo and the room that is left.

Manure processors and digesters

Supply comes from many suppliers with varying composition. The core is acceptance with weighing, sampling and traceability per batch through to the end product.

Technology and integrations

This page is about software that brings manure transport and manure accountability together in a single registration. It borders on our work for arable farming, on transport and logistics and on supply chain management software. You can read about our approach on custom software development.

Why Appfront for your manure accounting and load registration software?

Manure accounting is only as good as the load it is based on. That is what we build on: first the load complete, then the accountability follows automatically.

Record it once and you are done

What the driver enters on the tablet is used by the office for the notification, the accounting and the invoice. Retyping disappears, and with it most of the discrepancies.

A load is only finished when it is complete

The software keeps track of weight, sample number, confirmation and result. Anything missing appears in a task list, so you see it before an inspector asks about it.

Rules change, your registration doesn't have to every year

Limits, codes and notification obligations change regularly. We build them as settings rather than fixed rules, so a change doesn't mean a new system.

Security and privacy in manure accounting and load registration software

The software holds company and customer data, customer numbers, parcel data, weights, analysis results and data on drivers and vehicles. We set up access by role: a driver sees only their own loads, the planner sees the planning board, and the office sees the full administration. Every change to a load is logged with a timestamp and user, and we configure retention periods for administrative and personal data separately in line with the GDPR.

The software runs in a European data centre, with encrypted storage and daily backups. Integrations with the weighbridge, on-board computer, reporting portal and accounting software use their own keys, which can be revoked per integration.

Frequently asked questions about manure accounting and load registration software

Questions that intermediaries, agricultural contractors and livestock farmers ask before they get started.

It records for each load who supplies, who receives, which type of manure is involved, where it was loaded and unloaded, what the weight was and which sample belongs to it. That registration feeds the transport notifications, the stock per storage facility and the nitrogen and phosphate accounting per farm. You enter the data once and use it in three places.

You record the load data you need for a real-time transport document in the software, and we check it for completeness. Depending on the connection available, we either submit the notifications directly or deliver a complete, checked set that you file in the portal. Either way, nobody has to retype the same data.

Yes. The driver works on a tablet or phone with that day's loads stored in memory. The app saves weights, times, sample numbers and photos locally and sends them as soon as there is a connection again. On the farmyard, in a shed or on a parcel without coverage, the work simply carries on.

Usually, yes. First we look at what your equipment can exchange: a file, a local readout or a supplier interface. After that, we automatically pull weights and trip data into the right load. Where integration isn't possible, the driver scans or enters the weight, with a check for deviations.

A load that is divided over two unloading points or two parcels is recorded as a single trip with multiple unloading lines. Later corrections don't overwrite anything: the original line stays in place with a correction entry alongside it. That way you can always trace what happened, even if an analysis result only arrives weeks later.

Yes, through a portal where a livestock farmer or receiving party sees their own loads, weights and results and handles outstanding confirmations. You decide per customer what is visible. That saves phone calls asking whether a load has been delivered and where the weighing slip and analysis result have gone.

Check that first. If you run a limited number of fixed loads per week and your adviser handles the accounting, an existing package with a reporting module is often enough. Custom software starts to pay off once you run many loads, have your own rate agreements, manage several storage locations or want to integrate equipment that a standard package doesn't support.

Do you want every load reported and every kilo accounted for?

Tell us how many loads you run per week, how you currently record weights and samples, and which systems you use for planning and accounting. We'll show you what the planning board, the load registration on the tablet and the overview of stock and manure application space look like in your situation, using our approach to building software.
