Every harness and every line with its inspection Anchor points recorded per building Failed is out of use

Custom fall protection inspection register development

Appfront builds inspection registers for companies working with fall protection: for each harness, lanyard, fall arrester and anchor point, the inspection with date, result and inspector, the issue to employees, the lifespan set by the manufacturer, and a block if an item has failed or is overdue. Anchor points and roof safety systems are recorded per building. So no one goes onto a roof with an uninspected harness, and you can show during an audit that each item is in order.

What is an inspection register for fall protection equipment?

Fall protection equipment saves lives, but only when it is in good condition. Harnesses, lanyards and fall arresters must be inspected periodically by a competent person, and have a lifespan set by the manufacturer. Anchor points on roofs must also be inspected. A company with dozens of harnesses across different projects, or a manager with anchor points on many roofs, needs a register that tracks the status of each item.

In many companies the register lives in a folder or a spreadsheet, and the harness carries a sticker with the last inspection. The storeroom manager roughly knows where a harness is. A harness that has reached the end of its life stays in the van. An anchor point on a roof nobody has visited for years has never been inspected. And after an accident or audit, someone has to work out when the item was last inspected.

We build custom because the register has to fit your work: which equipment you have and how it is issued, who inspects and how often, which manufacturer instructions and standards you follow, which buildings and anchor points you manage, and which systems you use for staff and projects. How often and by whom an item must be inspected follows from the instructions; the register ensures it happens and is recorded.

Equipment with inspection

For each harness, lanyard and fall arrester: the serial number, lifespan, and every inspection with result, inspector and evidence.

Anchor points per building

Anchor points and roof safety systems per building on the floor plan, with their inspections.

Failed is out of use

An item that has failed, reached the end of its lifespan or is overdue for inspection is blocked from issue.

How we build your inspection register for fall protection equipment

We start with your equipment: how many items, where they are, who inspects them, and how you currently know that a harness is in order.

1
Mapping equipment and inspections

Your equipment, issue, inspectors, instructions and standards, buildings with anchor points, and your systems.

2
Building the register

Equipment with serial number, lifespan and inspections, and anchor points per building.

3
Inspecting and issuing

Inspections with result and evidence, issue to employees and projects, and blocking on failure.

4
Alerts and integrations

Alerts for upcoming inspections, integration with staff and projects, and ongoing management afterwards.

What an inspection register for fall protection equipment does in practice

The items below are found at almost every company with fall protection. Which you need depends on your equipment and buildings.

Equipment register

Harnesses, lanyards and fall arresters with serial number, date of manufacture and service life.

Inspections

Every inspection with date, result, inspector and photo or report.

Handing out

Which employee or project a piece of equipment has been issued to, with scanning.

Anchor points

Anchor points and fixtures per building and roof, with floor plan and inspection record.

Notifications

An alert before an inspection expires or the service life is reached.

Block

Failed or expired equipment cannot be issued.

Who we build an inspection register for fall protection equipment

The register is intended for companies that currently track fall protection with stickers and folders.

Construction companies and roofers

Many harnesses across many projects. Issue and blocking are the core.

Installers and window cleaners

Work on clients' roofs and façades. Equipment per van matters most.

Inspection bodies

Inspections for many clients. Registration per item is what is needed.

Building managers

Anchor points on many roofs. The inspection per building is the core.

Why choose Appfront for your fall protection equipment inspection register?

A harness that is not in order is only noticed when it is too late. We build on that: every item with its inspection, failures that genuinely take equipment out of use, and a register that is accurate.

No uninspected harnesses

Equipment that is overdue or has failed cannot be issued.

Knowing where it is

For each item, it is recorded who it is with or which project it is on.

Evidence at audit

Inspection history per item and per anchor point is readily available.

Security and privacy for a fall protection equipment inspection register

The register holds equipment, inspections and issue to employees. Access is set up by role: the inspector records inspections, the store issues equipment, and employees see the equipment issued to them.

The register works on your phone, even without signal on a roof or in a basement, and synchronises later. The data is stored in a European data centre, with encrypted storage and daily back-ups.

Frequently asked questions about a fall protection equipment inspection register

Questions that companies with fall protection ask before getting started.

It records, for each harness, lanyard, fall arrester and anchor point, the inspections with result and evidence, registers issue to employees, monitors service life, flags upcoming inspections and blocks failed or expired equipment.

According to the manufacturer's instructions and the standards that apply to the equipment, such as NEN-EN 365, usually at least annually by a competent person. You determine what applies to your equipment together with your inspector or adviser.

Yes. Anchor points and roof safety fixtures are held per building, on the floor plan, with their inspection and the next inspection date.

A failed or expired item is blocked from issue. When scanned, the employee immediately sees that it may not be used.

Yes, with its own login. The inspector records inspections with the result and report, and you can see the outcome straight away.

Yes, on a phone, even without signal. Equipment is scanned with a QR code or NFC label.

Check that first. A general inspection log is enough if you have little fall protection. Custom development makes sense where many items are issued, where lifespan is tracked per item, or where there are anchor points across many buildings.
