Every pressure vessel with a valid term Re-inspection planned before the date expires Every report traceable per object

Custom pressure equipment register software for industry

Appfront builds a register that holds every pressure vessel, boiler and piping system with its technical data, inspection history and documents. The software determines the applicable term per object, schedules the re-inspection, warns you in good time, processes the findings and stores the declaration of commissioning with the object. So you never again discover that a term has expired while the installation is running.

What is pressure equipment register software with re-inspection planning?

Pressure equipment register software with re-inspection planning is a system that holds all your pressure vessels, boilers, piping systems and safety accessories with their technical data, location, inspection history and applicable term. The Dutch Pressure Equipment Decree 2016 (Warenwetbesluit drukapparatuur 2016) requires an inspection before commissioning and periodic re-inspection of designated equipment. The software tracks when each object's term expires, schedules the inspection work, warns you in advance and stores the evidence in one fixed place.

Without such a register, the planning lives in a spreadsheet that an administrator set up at some point. A pressure vessel moves to a different line, the row is not updated and the re-inspection is listed under the wrong location. Or a steam boiler with a short fixed term gets lost among objects with a longer term, and the missing declaration of commissioning only comes to light during an audit.

We build custom software because your terms, object types and agreements with the inspecting body differ from those of any other company. We connect to your own object numbering, your maintenance system, your shutdown planning and your document management, and follow your rules for release. A generic maintenance package has no term flexibility and no distinction between inspection before commissioning and re-inspection. See also custom software development.

Object register

Every pressure vessel, boiler, piping system and safety accessory with manufacturer details, design pressure, location, installation and associated documents, linked to the object it belongs to.

Term and planning

For each object you record the applicable term, including any extension or flexibilisation. The software calculates the next re-inspection date and puts it in the planning with advance alerts.

Findings and evidence

Findings from the inspection become actions in the system, with an owner, priority and completion date. The declaration of commissioning and the inspection report stay linked to the object.

How we build your pressure equipment register software with re-inspection planning

We start with your current inspection list and the folder of inspection reports from recent years.

1
Mapping objects and terms

We walk through your installations: which objects fall under the decree, which term applies, who inspects and which documents belong to each. This gives us the structure of the register.

2
Recording the baseline data

We set up object types, locations, production lines, manufacturers, interval rules and document types, and import your existing inspection list, so the history and the latest inspection date for each object are visible straight away.

3
Setting up the daily work

Administrators schedule re-inspections during shutdowns, inspectors enter findings and photos on site, and the person responsible sees per location what expires this month and what is still outstanding.

4
Integrating and taking over management

We integrate the register with your maintenance system, document management and calendars, set up roles, alerts and reports, train your people and then take over management of the software.

What pressure equipment register software with re-inspection planning actually does

The components below appear in almost every pressure equipment register. Which ones you need depends on the number of locations, your object types and whether you work with an in-house inspection body.

Object register

All pressure equipment with technical data, location, status and the relationships between assembly, safety accessories and piping system, so you can see what belongs together.

Interval determination

The applicable interval for each object, with room for extension and flexibilisation, and a documented justification of the interval set by your inspection body.

Re-inspection planning

An annual plan per location and shutdown, with alerts well ahead of the due date and insight into what can be inspected together.

Findings and actions

Findings from inspections with owner, priority and completion date, so repair work does not disappear into scattered emails and spreadsheets but is demonstrably completed.

Document archive

Declarations of commissioning, inspection reports, drawings and material certificates, version-controlled and linked to the right object rather than to a network folder.

Reporting and audit

Overviews per location and per object type, with an export file you can hand over immediately during an audit, to an insurer or at a regulatory inspection.

Who we build pressure equipment register software with re-inspection planning for

The software is intended for organisations with pressure equipment at multiple locations, where a missed deadline has immediate consequences for production and safety.

Manufacturers

Many objects per line and inspections that have to fit into shutdowns. The integration between planning and the shutdown calendar is the core here.

Chemicals and process industry

Heavy objects, strict internal release rules and external regulators. The document archive with declarations, certificates and inspection reports carries the most weight in the file here.

Installers and maintenance companies

Pressure equipment of multiple clients under management. Separation of data per client and a dedicated planning overview per contract are decisive for day-to-day work here.

In-house inspection bodies

Their own inspectors and their own assessments of the interval. Recording findings and the justification of every interval set are central to the file here.

Why Appfront for your pressure equipment register software with re-inspection planning?

An inspection plan is only as good as the register it runs on. That is what we build on: first the objects and intervals correct, then the planning and reporting.

An interval belongs to an object, not to a list

We record the interval on the object itself, with the justification alongside. If the object moves or the interval changes, the planning shifts automatically.

Evidence must be easy to find when it is asked for

Certificates and reports are stored with the asset, not in a network folder. During an audit you open the asset and see the full history on one screen.

Spotting problems before they occur

The software warns you well before the expiry date, so the inspection fits into a planned shutdown and you don't have to stop operations at short notice to get it inspected.

Security and privacy for pressure equipment register software with re-inspection planning

The register holds technical data on installations, inspection reports, findings and the names of inspectors and responsible persons. Access is role-based: an inspector sees their own assets, a manager sees the site, and an auditor has read-only access. Every change to a deadline or document is logged. Personal data falls under the GDPR, and you keep inspection files in line with your own retention periods.

The software runs in a European data centre, with encrypted storage and daily backups. Integrations with your maintenance system, ERP and document management use their own keys, which can be revoked per integration.

Frequently asked questions about pressure equipment register software with re-inspection planning

Questions that technical managers and QHSE officers ask before getting started.

For each pressure vessel, boiler, piping system and safety accessory, the software keeps track of the data, documents and inspection history that belong to it and which deadline applies. Based on that, the system calculates the next re-inspection date, puts it in the schedule and warns you in advance. Findings become actions with an owner, and the certificate and report stay linked to the asset.

Yes. The Dutch Pressure Equipment Decree 2016 (Warenwetbesluit drukapparatuur 2016) sets various fixed intervals, plus interval extensions and flexible intervals. We record the rules per asset type, so the due date follows from the latest inspection. If you deviate because your inspection body set a different interval, you record that deviation, with justification, against the asset.

Yes. Inspectors and engineers work on a phone or tablet. They scan or search for the asset, see the full history, enter findings and photos, and complete the work on site. In areas without signal, data entry continues offline and everything syncs as soon as a connection is available again.

Usually, yes. We go through your spreadsheet or export, decide which columns map to which fields and clean up duplicate and expired rows. Then we import the assets with their last inspection date and interval. If the file names are traceable, we can attach existing reports as files to the right assets.

Yes, provided that system offers an integration or export. We exchange assets, work orders and statuses, so a planned re-inspection appears as a work order and its completion automatically flows back into the register. If no integration option exists, we use periodic file exchange, so you don't have to enter the same data twice.

You open the asset and see the inspection history, the certificate of commissioning, the latest report, the applicable interval and the open findings. At site level you run an overview of everything that expires within a given period. These overviews can be exported, so you can include them as an attachment to an audit file.

Check that first. If you have few assets at one site and a recurring task in your maintenance package is enough, that is sufficient. Once you have multiple sites, intervals differ per asset type, certificates and reports must stay easy to find and findings need follow-up, an off-the-shelf package breaks down and custom software is the calmer choice.

Want to see when the next re-inspection falls due for each asset?

Tell us how many assets you manage, how many sites they are spread across and how you currently keep track of inspection scheduling. We'll show you what the register, the deadline planner with alerts and the document archive look like, and what that means for building custom software.
