Registering and tracking the status yourself Interim support and contact in the app A waiting list that stays up to date

Custom waiting list management app with access times

Anyone on a waiting list wants to know where they stand, how long it will take and what they can do in the meantime. The care provider wants to know whether everyone on the list is still waiting. Appfront builds the app for the client and the referrer: registering, tracking the status, interim support and contact in one place, and a prompt asking whether the registration is still current, so the waiting list stays accurate.

What is a waiting list app with access times?

A waiting list is about people waiting for care or a place. The access time, the time between registration and start, is measured against a standard, such as the Treek standards in mental health care or agreements with funders. The care provider manages the list in its own system. This app is the other side: the client, their family and the referrer.

A lot goes wrong on that side. A client doesn't know where they stand and phones in. A referrer emails a registration with half the details missing. Someone finds help elsewhere but doesn't withdraw, and stays on the list for months. Interim care is offered in a letter nobody reads. The waiting list looks longer than it is, and the people who are really waiting hear too little.

The app solves that on the client's side. Registering with the questions you need, the status and expected waiting time in plain language, interim support and contact in the app, and a periodic prompt asking whether the registration is still needed. The list itself, the standard and the reporting stay in the waiting list software. We build custom because every organisation has different types of care, rules and systems.

How we build your waiting list app with access times

We start with your waiting list: which types of care, which standards, how a client or referrer currently registers, and which questions your administration team gets most often. Then we build a first version of the app with registration and status, because that is where most phone calls come from. Clients and referrers use it for a few weeks. Interim support, the prompt asking whether the registration is still current and the integration with your waiting list software or client record follow if that goes well. After that, we maintain the app as your care offering or rules change.

Why Appfront for your waiting list app with access times?

An admin team answering questions about waiting times all day, a list full of people who found help elsewhere long ago, and clients who hear nothing: all of it costs a care provider time and trust. That is what we build on: clients who can see their own status, interim support that actually reaches them, and a list that stays up to date.

Fewer phone calls

The status is in the app.

Fair list

Anyone waiting is genuinely waiting.

Better care

Interim support that gets through.

Security and privacy in a waiting list app with access times

The app processes special category personal data: who needs care, what kind of care and sometimes why. We only ask for what is needed for the referral, logging in is secure, for example with DigiD or a second step, and a referrer only sees the referrals they made themselves. Data on the device is stored encrypted.

The data is hosted in a European data centre, with encrypted storage and daily backups. We record the processing in a data processing agreement, meet the requirements that apply to healthcare data, and log who has viewed what.

Frequently asked questions about a waiting list app with access times

Questions care providers ask before getting started.

It lets clients and referrers register, follow their status and expected waiting time, see interim support and contact moments, and periodically confirm whether the registration is still needed. Everything goes straight to the care provider's waiting list software.

The software is for the organisation: one waiting list per type of care, the access time against the standard, urgency, placement and reporting. The app is for the client and the referrer. They work together, but the app can also connect to the system you already have.

As reliable as the data allows. The app shows an expectation based on the list and the throughput, with a note that it is an estimate. If the expectation changes significantly, the client receives a message rather than having to find out for themselves.

The app asks at set intervals whether the registration is still needed. A client who has found help elsewhere can withdraw with a single tap. Anyone who does not respond receives a reminder, and your staff can see who needs following up.

Yes. A GP, community team or other referrer can register clients with the information you need and follow the status of their referrals, with the client's consent. That saves email and phone calls on both sides.

That is the aim. We write in plain language, take the digital accessibility guidelines into account, and let family and friends follow along if the client wishes. Anyone who does not want an app can use the web version or simply keep phoning.

For care providers with long waiting lists, many referrers or many phone calls about waiting times, and with their own rules that do not fit a standard portal. If your waiting list is short and manageable, a good letter and a fixed contact moment are often enough.

Clients who know where they stand?
