Measurement, scan and photos in one file From measurement to production order Check after delivery recorded

Custom app for orthotic insole fitting records

Appfront builds apps for podiatrists, chiropodists, orthopaedic shoe technicians and insole makers: at the fitting, the foot scan or impression, the measurements, photos of the foot and gait, and the client's complaints in one file; from there, a production order for the workshop or external lab; and after delivery, the fit check and evaluation. So the insole is made based on what was measured, and when a second pair is needed or a complaint arises, you can immediately find out what was done last time.

What is an app for insole fitting records?

An insole starts with a measurement: a scan or impression of the foot, photos, an assessment of the gait, and the client's complaints. What the insole maker or lab receives from that determines the insole. A fitting-record app captures everything from the measurement in one place, creates a production order from it, and tracks what happens next until the insole fits.

Without an app like this, the scan sits in the scanner's software, the photos on a tablet, the complaints in the practice system, and the prescription on a form that goes to the lab. For a second pair, nobody quite knows what was made last time. An insole that doesn't fit goes back without the lab seeing what was measured. And when an insurer asks a question, the file has to be pulled together from three places.

We build custom software because the file has to fit your practice: which scanner or printing method you use, how you record measurements and prescriptions, whether you make the insoles yourself or have them made by a lab, which practice system you run, and how you handle reimbursements. A practice system knows the appointments and reports; it rarely knows the scan, the prescription and the production order alongside them.

Everything from the fitting

Complaints, history, measurements, the scan or impression, photos of the foot and shoes, and the gait, recorded on a tablet during the appointment.

From prescription to order

The insole prescription with materials and corrections, and from that a production order for your own workshop or the lab, with the scan attached.

Fitting and evaluation

The delivery, the fitting check with adjustments, and the evaluation a few weeks later, all in the same file, so the next pair turns out better.

How we build your app for the insole fitting file

We start with the fitting: which data you collect, where it ends up, and what the workshop or lab needs that is currently missing.

1
Mapping the practice and the chain

Your fitting process, scanner or printing method, the prescription, the workshop or lab, the practice system and the reimbursements.

2
Fitting file

The file per client with complaints, measurements, scan, photos and gait, on a tablet during the appointment.

3
Prescription and production

The insole prescription, the production order to the workshop or lab, and the status until delivery.

4
Fitting, evaluating and integrating

Fitting check and evaluation, the integration with the practice system and the scanner, and then management and expansion.

What an insole fitting app actually does

The components below come up in almost every practice that works with insoles. Which ones you need depends on whether you make them yourself or have them made.

Fitting on tablet

Complaints, history and measurements during the appointment, with photos and video of the gait placed directly in the file.

Scan and impression

The foot scan from your scanner or a photo of the imprint, linked to the record and the measurements.

Prescription

Materials, corrections and specifics of the insole, recorded in a fixed format so the workshop or lab reads it correctly.

Production order

An order to your own workshop or the lab with prescription and scan, and the status until the insole is back.

Fitting check and evaluation

Adjustments at the fitting and an evaluation after a few weeks, with the complaints before and after.

History per client

All previous insoles with prescription, scan and evaluation, so a second pair builds on the first.

Who we build an insole fitting app for

The app is intended for practices and makers whose fitting data is currently spread across several places.

Podotherapy practices

Many fittings, insoles made through a lab or an in-house workshop. The file and the production order are the core.

Orthopaedic shoe technicians

Custom insoles and shoes with extensive measurements. The scan and the prescription matter most.

Podiatrists and chiropodists who supply insoles

Smaller practices that have orthoses made through a lab. A simple record and the order are all that's needed.

Insole makers and labs

Orders from many practices. A portal where practices submit orders with scans is the core.

Why choose Appfront for your insole fitting record app?

An insole is only as good as the measurement and the prescription. That is what we build on: everything from the fitting brought together, an order the lab can read clearly, and an evaluation that makes the next pair better.

Made from what was measured

The workshop or lab receives the scan, the photos and the prescription in a single order. No half-read form.

The second pair is better

The previous prescription and evaluation are ready to hand. The new fitting builds on what worked.

A complete record

If an insurer asks a question or a complaint is raised, everything can be found, from complaint through to evaluation.

Security and privacy for an insole fitting record app

The app holds medical data, photos of feet, and information about complaints and treatment. Access is set up by role: the practitioner sees their own clients, while the workshop or lab sees only the order with what is needed to make the insole. Every access is logged with name and time.

The app runs in a European data centre that meets the requirements for healthcare data, with encrypted storage and daily back-ups. Logging in requires a second factor.

Frequently asked questions about an insole fitting record app

Questions practices ask before getting started.

During the fitting, it records complaints, measurements, the scan or impression, photos and gait analysis, creates a production order from these together with the prescription for the workshop or lab, tracks the order through to delivery, and records the fit check and evaluation in the same file.

If the scanner makes the scan available as a file or through an integration, yes. The scan then goes into the record and travels with the order. We'll look at which scanner you have in the first step.

Yes. The order goes to the lab with the prescription and scan, via a portal or an integration, and the lab reports back the status and delivery.

No. Appointments, reports and invoicing stay in the practice system. The app adds the fitting record and production, and can write the relevant data back.

The previous prescription, scan and evaluation are kept on the client's file. The practitioner can see what was made last time and what worked, and build on that.

Photos and complaint details are health data. The app limits access to those who need it, sends the lab only what is necessary for the insole, and runs in an environment that meets the requirements for healthcare data.

Check this first. Some practice systems for podiatry have a measurement module, and that is enough if you have one scanner and one lab. Bespoke development makes sense if you have multiple locations, scanners or labs, if the prescription needs to go to the workshop in a structured form, or if evaluations need to be tracked systematically.
