GVB — Gastvrij door Amsterdam

For GVB we developed TVM Online: a web application that lets staff from different teams create traffic notices, draw diversions on maps and manage routes. The application is integrated with the Central Stop Register and NeTEx data, the global standard for public transport data. With Microsoft SSO, role-based access, version control and live PDF previews, it has become a full-fledged work process tool.

Discovery and scoping

We start with a thorough analysis of your challenge. Who are the users? What are the technical requirements? Which systems need to be integrated? The result is a clear project plan with scope, architecture and timeline.

Design-first development

Before any code is written, we design the user experience. Wireframes, prototypes and visual design are validated with real users. Only once the design is settled do we start building.

Iterative build

We work in short sprints with regular demos. You see progress, can steer the direction and don't have to wait until the end for feedback. Automated testing and code reviews safeguard quality.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about working with Appfront

That depends largely on the scope. An MVP or proof of concept can go live in 6 to 10 weeks. More complex applications with multiple integrations and user roles typically take 3 to 6 months. During the discovery phase, we create a realistic plan that we adjust sprint by sprint.
Both models are possible. For projects with a clearly defined scope, we often work with a fixed price. For engagements where flexibility and ongoing development matter, we opt for a time and materials model with transparent reporting per sprint.
Yes. We build products that are transferable, with clear documentation and a maintainable codebase. We also offer SLA contracts for ongoing maintenance, monitoring and further development, so you can always rely on us.
Design is not a layer added on top of the technology, but an integral part of our development process. We start with UX research and wireframes before any code is written. Prototypes are tested with real users. This prevents costly iterations later in the project and results in products people actually want to use.
That's where we excel. We have experience integrating with ERP systems such as Exact Online and AFAS, CRM platforms such as Salesforce, payment services such as Mollie, and industry-specific APIs such as NeTEx for public transport data. If an API is available, we'll build the integration.
Our office is located on the Westerdoksdijk in Amsterdam. We work in a hybrid way: for workshops, design sessions and kick-offs we are happy to meet in person, but day-to-day development work is also carried out remotely. We serve clients throughout the Netherlands and beyond without any issues.
