Custom SAP integration development

SAP is the beating heart of your business operations: finance, procurement, sales, logistics. But SAP rarely works in isolation. Your CRM, webshop, customer portal and internal tools need to work seamlessly with SAP to avoid duplicate entry and outdated data.

We build custom SAP integrations that connect your ERP with the rest of your IT landscape. S/4HANA, ECC or Business One, using the right technology, with reliable data flows.

What is an SAP integration?

A SAP integration connects your SAP ERP to the systems around it: CRM, e-commerce, customer portals, BI tools and custom software. Data such as customer details, orders, invoices, stock levels and product prices flows automatically — without manual retyping or CSV imports.

🔄

Bidirectional data flows

A customer who places an order through your webshop appears in SAP automatically. An invoice created in SAP is immediately visible in your customer portal. Two systems, one source of truth.

📊

Master data synchronisation

Keep customer data, supplier data, product master data and price lists consistent across all systems. SAP acts as the source of truth, automatically distributed to every connected application.

⚡

Process automation

Fully automate order-to-cash, procure-to-pay and other end-to-end processes that span multiple systems. No manual intermediate steps, no waiting times.

SAP versions we integrate

Each SAP version has its own interfaces and APIs. We choose the right technology for each version and build integrations that suit your specific SAP environment.

☁

SAP S/4HANA Cloud

The latest cloud version with extensive OData APIs and events. Ideal for modern integrations via REST/JSON. We use the SAP API Business Hub for standard interfaces and build custom CDS views where needed.

💻

SAP S/4HANA On-Premises

On-premises S/4HANA with OData, RFC and IDoc interfaces. Often requires a VPN or SAP Cloud Connector for secure connections to external systems. We configure the full connectivity.

💾

SAP ECC 6.0

Still in use at many Dutch companies. Integration via RFC/BAPI calls and IDoc messages. More limited APIs than S/4HANA, but fully integrable with the right approach.

💼

SAP Business One

ERP for SMEs with its own Service Layer (REST API) and DI API. Lighter and quicker to integrate than the larger SAP platforms. Ideal for integrations with webshops and CRM.

Common SAP integrations

SAP touches almost every business process. The integrations we build most often connect SAP with the systems your customers, sales and operations teams use every day.

E-commerce and online shops

  • Products and prices from SAP to Shopify or Magento
  • Orders and customer data from webshop to SAP
  • Real-time stock updates to the webshop
  • Invoices and shipping statuses back to the customer

CRM and sales

  • Customer and contact data sync with HubSpot or Salesforce
  • Quotes and orders from CRM to SAP SD
  • Revenue and invoice data back to CRM deals
  • Credit limits and payment history in CRM

Customer portals and apps

  • Order status and invoice overview for customers
  • Self-service ordering with SAP inventory management
  • Returns processes from portal to SAP
  • Web applications with SAP as the backend

BI and reporting

  • SAP data to Power BI, Looker or Tableau
  • Custom dashboards with financial KPIs
  • Filling a data warehouse from SAP extracts
  • Real-time reporting via OData or CDS views

SAP integration technologies

SAP offers several ways to exchange data. The right choice depends on your SAP version, the type of data and the level of real-time access you need. We select the most suitable technology for each use case.

🔗

OData APIs

RESTful APIs available as standard in S/4HANA. Access to business objects over HTTP using JSON or XML. The modern, preferred way to integrate with SAP. We use standard OData services and build custom CDS views for specific data.

🔌

RFC and BAPI

Remote Function Calls and Business APIs are the classic SAP integration technologies. Direct, synchronous and reliable. We use RFC connectors from Node.js, Python or .NET for real-time communication with SAP ECC and S/4HANA.

📦

IDoc messages

Intermediate Documents for asynchronous, message-based integration. Ideal for master data distribution, order exchange and EDI-style scenarios. Reliable delivery with a retry mechanism.

Making SAP data available wherever it is needed

SAP holds the truth about your business: customer details, orders, stock and finances. But that data is only valuable if it is accessible to the people and systems that need it. Your sales team wants customer data in their CRM, your customers want order status in their portal, and your webshop needs to show current stock. A SAP integration makes that data available automatically and reliably, without anyone having to log in to SAP.

Middleware and integration architecture

Complex SAP landscapes with multiple connected systems call for an integration architecture. We advise on and build the right structure for your situation.

⚙

SAP Integration Suite

The cloud integration platform on SAP BTP, with pre-built connectors for hundreds of systems. We use it when the standard connectors fit and the licence is available. Includes API management and event mesh.

🛠

Custom middleware

Sometimes a lightweight custom middleware layer is the better choice: more control, lower costs and no dependency on SAP BTP. We build middleware with Node.js, Python or .NET that transforms and distributes SAP data.

📊

Event-driven architecture

Instead of periodic batch synchronisation, your integration responds to events: an order in SAP immediately triggers an update in your webshop. Faster, more efficient and always up to date.

Frequently asked questions about SAP integrations

A SAP integration connects your SAP system to other business software: CRM, e-commerce, portals, BI tools or custom applications. Data such as customer details, orders, invoices and stock flows automatically between SAP and your other systems.

We build integrations with SAP S/4HANA (cloud and on-premise), SAP ECC 6.0, SAP Business One and SAP Business ByDesign. The technical approach differs by version, but the result is the same: reliable data flows between SAP and your systems.

Depending on your SAP version, we use: OData APIs (S/4HANA), RFC/BAPI calls (ECC), IDoc messages, SAP Integration Suite (BTP) or middleware. For SAP Business One we work with the Service Layer REST API or the DI API.

Yes. Common integrations include SAP with HubSpot or Salesforce (customer and deal data), SAP with Shopify or Magento (orders and stock), and SAP with customer portals or configurators. We build bidirectional data flows that keep both systems up to date.

SAP Integration Suite is the cloud integration platform on SAP Business Technology Platform. It offers pre-built connectors, API management and event-driven integration. We use it as middleware where it is the best solution, but we also build direct integrations.

All integrations work with SAP authorisation objects and roles. We configure technical users with minimal rights (least privilege). Communication is encrypted, and all API calls are logged for audit and troubleshooting.

A single data integration (e.g. customer data sync) can be live within three to four weeks. A broader integration with multiple data flows, transformations and error handling is delivered in phases of six to twelve weeks.

Costs depend on the SAP version, the number of data flows, the complexity of data transformations, whether middleware is needed, and the requirements for monitoring and error handling. SAP integrations are typically more complex than integrations with cloud-native systems.
