Dutch ERP Orders, items & stock Custom API integration

Custom King ERP integration development

Appfront develops custom King ERP integrations that connect your trading, manufacturing or wholesale administration with webshops, WMS packages, CRM systems and your own applications. We build stable integrations around orders, items, stock, debtors and general ledger entries, so King remains the reliable heart of your operation, without manual data entry.

What is a King ERP integration?

King ERP is the Dutch ERP package from Quadrant (part of Bjorn Lunden). For decades it has been used by trading, manufacturing and wholesale companies for financial administration, purchasing, sales, orders, items, stock, production and project administration. King is available both on-premise and as an online version.

A King integration automatically connects that ERP to the systems that run alongside it every day: your webshop, a WMS or stock package, CRM, marketplace channels or a custom portal. Instead of exports, imports and manual re-keying, orders, items and stock movements flow between systems in real time or at agreed intervals.

Appfront builds these integrations to measure, tailored to your King edition, your item and warehouse structure and your actual business processes. A standard template often covers 70 to 80 per cent of the situation. We make sure the remaining logic, such as assemblies, multiple warehouses, different VAT rules or customer-specific pricing, is handled correctly in the integration.

Orders and stock in sync

Webshop orders land in King automatically, and stock levels and item prices flow back. No duplicate entry, no mismatches between sales and administration.

Financial consistency

Debtors, sales invoices and general ledger entries in King stay in line with what happens in your other systems. Ideal for monthly and year-end closings without correcting entries.

Integrated with your stack

Implementation with clear error handling and extensive logging. Both the online and on-premise editions of King are supported, via available web services, file exchange or a middleware layer where needed.

Our development process for King integrations

We work to a methodology that removes uncertainty early and delivers a stable integration. From an initial analysis of your King data through to go-live and ongoing management, every step aims for an integration your team can understand, monitor and extend itself.

1
Analysis & scope

We map out which King entities are involved (orders, items, stock, general ledger), which direction the data needs to flow and which business rules apply.

2
Architecture

We design the integration architecture, choose authentication and define the strategy for error handling, retries and reconciliation.

3
Development

Implementation with automated tests, structured logging and monitoring. You see working builds in a test environment with real data along the way.

4
Go-live & management

Controlled go-live with data validation and a safety net, followed by ongoing management, monitoring and further development.

What a King integration delivers in practice

Every integration is built specifically for your business processes. Below are the functionalities we most often deliver for organisations that want to connect King with the rest of their software landscape.

Webshop → King

Orders, customers and payments from Magento, Shopify, WooCommerce or Lightspeed flow automatically into King. Stock levels and item prices flow back, so your webshop always shows an accurate picture.

CRM synchronisation

Debtor and customer records stay in line between King and your CRM, whether that is Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive or a custom system. Sales teams see up-to-date invoicing and payment history, and accounts work with consistent customer data.

WMS & warehouse

Items, stock movements, pick-and-pack confirmations and purchase receipts run bidirectionally between King and your WMS. Multiple warehouses, batches and serial numbers are handled correctly.

Production & assemblies

Production orders, recipes and assemblies in King are linked to planning tools or MES systems. Completed production automatically posts stock movements in King, including raw material deductions.

Invoicing automation

Based on delivered orders, contracts or periodic agreements, sales invoices are automatically created, numbered and posted in King. Suitable for high-volume invoicing or subscription models.

Reporting & dashboards

Reporting & analytics

Typical use cases in practice

Financial and operational data from King is combined in dashboards or tools such as Power BI, Looker Studio or Tableau. Management and department heads see current margins, stock turnover and cash flow without Excel workarounds.

Depending on the type of business, a King integration can look very different. We come across a number of patterns regularly, and for each of them we have developed a proven model.

Trade organisations sell through several channels at once: webshop, B2B portal, EDI customers and marketplaces. A King integration ensures that orders from all those channels come together in one ERP, stock is reserved in real time, and invoicing and debtor management remain centralised in King. Manufacturing companies

Manufacturers use King for costings, assemblies and production orders. An integration with planning tools, MES or shopfloor terminals retrieves actual production and posts raw material deductions, so the costing in King matches what happens on the shop floor.

Manufacturers

Businesses with multiple warehouses, batches or serial numbers struggle with manual stock adjustments. A bidirectional integration between King and a WMS, or a custom scanner app, keeps location, batch and stock information reliable even at high volumes.

Stock-driven SMEs

Service providers that record materials and subcontractors in King alongside time tracking connect their time tool or planning system to King. Logged hours and project costs are automatically converted into sales invoices and project entries in King.

Technology we use

We build King integrations with modern, well-maintained stacks. The precise choice depends on your King edition (on-premise or online) and your own preferences, so your team can manage or further develop the integration without vendor lock-in.

Why choose Appfront for your King integration?

Appfront has extensive experience with ERP and accounting integrations for Dutch businesses. We always begin with a thorough analysis of your King configuration and working processes. An integration must not only work technically, it must also add practical value to the daily work of the finance, logistics and sales teams.

With every integration, we write clear documentation and make sure your own team, or any future supplier, can understand and manage the integration. No black box, but transparent code and clear agreements on monitoring, alerting and maintenance.

You work with a dedicated point of contact who understands both the technical side (APIs, data model, infrastructure) and the functional side (order flows, stock logic, general ledger accounts). This keeps lines of communication short, prevents misunderstandings and speeds up decisions during the build.

Security and privacy in King integrations

ERP data contains financial information, customer details and sensitive business figures. Some of it falls under the GDPR. Appfront treats every King integration with this in mind: we do not store unnecessary data, we encrypt sensitive information in transit and at rest, and we document data flows so that your record of processing activities stays up to date.

Authentication runs through secure methods such as OAuth 2.0, API keys with restricted permissions or IP whitelisting. We agree in advance which data actually needs to be exchanged and keep the integration's scope to a minimum in line with the GDPR principle of data minimisation.

More on our security approach: information security policy and CVD policy.

If your webshop runs on CloudSuite, the integration with your ERP runs through that platform's headless API. For what that involves, see Building a CloudSuite integration.

  • GDPR-compliant data processing and data minimisation
  • Encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest
  • Role-based access and least-privilege principles
  • Audit logs with traceable data flows
  • Automatic retries and dead-letter queues
  • Monitoring and alerting for anomalies
  • Secrets management in line with best practice
  • Documentation for your record of processing activities

Frequently asked questions about King ERP integrations

Answers to the questions we are asked most often about custom integrations with King ERP.

A King ERP integration is a technical link between King, the ERP package from Quadrant (part of Bjorn Lunden), and another software system. The integration connects entities such as orders, items, stock, debtors, creditors and general ledger entries with your webshop, CRM, WMS or custom application, so that data is exchanged automatically and duplicate administration disappears.

Custom work makes sense when your combination of systems is not available in the King App Store, or when a standard connector only covers part of the scope you need. Organisations with unusual article structures, multiple warehouses, complex order flows or business rules that don't fit a template also often opt for a custom-built integration.

A simple one-way integration, such as pushing sales orders from a webshop into King, is typically production-ready within a few weeks. Bidirectional synchronisation of orders, items and stock with a WMS or marketplace takes longer, usually a few months including testing and a controlled go-live. After an intake, we provide a concrete timeline.

We connect to the integration layers available in King ERP, depending on the edition and version you run (on-premise or online). We build the integration layer in modern back-end stacks such as Node.js, Python, Laravel or .NET. Authentication runs through API keys, OAuth 2.0 or IP whitelisting, and for reliability we set up webhooks, job queues and monitoring.

The investment depends on the number of systems to connect, the complexity of the data flows (one-way versus bidirectional), the number of entities (orders, items, stock, general ledger), the desired synchronisation frequency and the amount of custom business logic. Management and monitoring also play a role. We always provide a clear quote following a no-obligation analysis.

Yes. All integrations are built according to security best practices and Dutch privacy legislation. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access works with restricted permissions, and we minimise the scope of the data exchanged. All data flows are documented so that your record of processing activities (under the GDPR) stays up to date.

Yes. Appfront regularly takes over integrations that were originally built by another supplier. We start with a code and architecture review, document the integration and draw up a maintenance plan. We can then add extensions, new entities and monitoring without you having to start again from scratch.

King ERP is widely used by trading companies, manufacturers, wholesalers and service providers with stock or project administration. Organisations that use a webshop, CRM, WMS, marketplace channel or their own application alongside King get the most from an integration, as manual re-keying, Excel bridges and data discrepancies fall away.
