One plot name across all records Crop protection, fertilisation and storage per plot Ready for the audit

Custom VVAK plot registration software development

Appfront builds software for arable farmers and their advisers who work under VVAK, Voedsel- en Voederveiligheid Akkerbouw (Food and Feed Safety for Arable Farming). For each plot: the crop, crop protection, fertilisation and harvest, using the same plot name in every record, and for each storage location what is stored in it. With an overview of what is still missing, and a file ready when the auditor arrives.

What is software for VVAK plot registration?

VVAK, Voedsel- en Voederveiligheid Akkerbouw, is a certification for arable farmers that demonstrates their products are safe for food and feed. Buyers often ask for it. Much of the requirements concern record-keeping: for each plot, what was grown, which crop protection products and fertilisers were used, when it was harvested, and in which storage location the produce is kept. A plot must also carry the same name across all records.

In practice, this data is scattered. Crop protection sits in a crop record or a notebook, fertiliser in the manure administration, storage on a whiteboard in the shed, and the contractor has their own receipts. A plot is called one thing in one system and something else in another. Just before the audit, everything is hunted down together, and it turns out a spray application was never recorded or a storage location was never checked.

We build custom because businesses differ: which crops, how many plots, which crop registration you already use, who sprays and fertilises, and which buyers ask for what. Which VVAK requirements apply to your business is something to check in the current certification documents and discuss with your adviser or certification body; the software records what you need for that.

One plot name everywhere

Each plot has a single name, used identically in crop protection, fertilisation, harvest and storage.

Everything per plot

Crop, crop protection, fertilisation and harvest per plot, with what is still missing.

Ready for the audit

A file of records, storage locations and checks, ready when the auditor arrives.

How we build your software for VVAK plot registration

We start with your business: which fields and crops, where the records are kept now, and what your buyer requires.

1
Business and records mapped out

Your fields, crops, storage locations, crop records and who records what.

2
Fields and names

Plots with one fixed name, linked to the names used in your other systems.

3
Records and storage

Crop protection, fertilisation, harvest and storage locations per field.

4
Checklist and audit

A checklist of what is missing, the audit file, and ongoing management afterwards.

What VVAK field record software actually does

The components below come up for almost every VVAK business. Which ones you need depends on what you grow.

Plots

Fields with a fixed name and crop per growing season.

Crop protection

Product, dose, date and applicator for each spray application.

Fertilisation

Fertilisers and quantities per field.

Harvest and storage

Harvest per field and what is in which storage location.

Checklist

What is still missing before the audit.

Dossier

Records, checks and evidence ready for the auditor.

Who we build VVAK field record software for

The software is intended for anyone who keeps or checks VVAK records.

Arable farmers

Many fields and crops. One field name across everything is the core.

Growers working with contractors

Spraying and fertilising done by third parties. Their receipts matter most.

Advisers

Advisers supporting several growers. An overview per grower is what is needed.

Buyers

Requiring records from growers. The check before harvest is central.

Technology and integrations

This page is about registration for VVAK. For plot registration in general, see our page on plot registration for arable farming; for a different certification, see our page on GlobalG.A.P. crop registration; and for crop registration in Dacom, see our page on a Dacom integration. Why choose Appfront for your VVAK field record software?

A spray application that was not recorded, or a field with two names, is a failing at audit. We build around that: one field name everywhere, everything recorded per field, and a file that is ready to hand over.

No searching in advance

The file is up to date every day, not just right before the audit.

One name

A field is called the same thing everywhere.

Buyer satisfied

Records are complete and can be shared on time.

Security and privacy in VVAK field record software

The software holds data about your business, fields and crops, business details you share only with those you choose. Access is set by role: an adviser or buyer sees only what you share.

The software runs in a European data centre, with encrypted storage and daily backups. Recording on the farm or in the field also works without signal.

Frequently asked questions about VVAK field record software

Questions arable farmers and advisers ask before getting started.

It records crop, crop protection, fertilisation and harvest per field under one fixed name, tracks what is in each storage location, shows what is still missing for VVAK, and builds a file for the audit. That way nothing has to be searched for just before the audit.

Voedsel- en Voederveiligheid Akkerbouw is a certification for arable farmers demonstrating that their products are safe for food and feed. Buyers often ask for it. A large part of the requirements concern records per field and per storage location.

Because crop protection, fertilisation and storage records must be linkable to one another. If a plot is named differently in one system than in another, the link cannot be traced. The software gives each plot one name and links it to the names used in your other systems.

Yes. If you already use a crop registration system, we pull the data from it wherever possible, so you don't have to record everything twice. The software fills in whatever is missing, such as storage locations and the checklist.

Yes, either through their own access or by scanning their receipts. A spraying or fertilising job carried out by a contractor is linked to the correct field, with product, dosage and date.

These are set out in the current certification documents, which are updated every season. Which requirements apply to your business is best discussed with your adviser or certifying body; the checklist in the software follows what you record.

Check that first. Many crop registration systems record crop protection and fertilisation well, and those make up a large part of VVAK. Custom development makes sense when storage, inspections and the audit file are missing, or when you advise several growers.
