Inspection at the customer, readings from the tester Report per customer ready straight away Re-inspection scheduled automatically

Custom software for inspection registration of electrical tools

Appfront builds software for inspection companies and inspectors who test portable electrical tools and extension leads at customers' premises. The inspector scans the equipment, the readings come from the tester, and the result is recorded immediately against that customer's equipment. By the end of the day the customer's report is ready, the invoice is prepared, and the re-inspection is already scheduled. We describe the customer's own register on other pages.

What is software for inspection records of portable electrical equipment?

Portable electrical tools, extension leads and other work equipment are inspected periodically, often in line with NEN 3140 and with measurements according to the applicable standards. Many businesses have this done by an inspection company that visits them. The inspector tests hundreds of items in a day, at different customers, and each item receives a sticker and a place in the report.

In practice, readings from the tester are transferred to a spreadsheet or the tester manufacturer's programme, and the report is produced in the evening. An item that is new to the customer is given a handwritten number. The invoice is made separately from the report. And when re-inspection is due, the inspector keeps track in a diary, or the customer calls to ask.

We build custom solutions because inspection companies differ: which equipment you test, which testers you use, what reports should look like, and how you invoice. Which inspections and intervals apply to an item follows from the standards and the customer's risk assessment; the software works with what you record.

Readings from the tester

Scan the item, take the readings from the tester, and the result goes straight to the right item.

Report ready straight away

At the end of the visit, the report for the customer, with the invoice attached.

Re-inspection scheduled

The next inspection for each customer scheduled at the interval that applies to the equipment.

How we build your software for inspection records of portable electrical equipment

We start with your inspections: which equipment, which testers, what a day in the life of an inspector looks like, and how reports and invoices are handled today. Most of the time is often spent transferring measurement values and producing reports. We remove that manual work, with an integration with the tester where possible.

1
Mapping the inspections

Your equipment, testers, customers, reports and invoicing.

2
Inspecting at the customer

Scanning, readings from the tester, and pass or fail.

3
Report and invoice

A report per customer and an invoice per visit or item.

4
Re-inspection and management

Scheduling of re-inspections, a customer portal, and ongoing management afterwards.

Why Appfront for your electrical equipment inspection registration software?

An inspector who enters measurement values and writes up reports in the evening inspects less during the day. That's what we build around: measurement values from the tester, the report ready straight away, and re-inspection scheduled automatically.

More inspections

No evening work on reports.

No errors

Measurement values aren't retyped.

Clients come back

Re-inspection scheduled automatically.

Security and privacy for electrical equipment inspection registration software

The software holds data about clients, their equipment and inspections. Access is set up by role, and in the portal a client sees only their own reports and equipment.

The software also works offline on site and sends everything as soon as there is a connection. The data is stored in a European data centre, with encrypted storage and daily back-ups.

Frequently asked questions about electrical equipment inspection registration software

Questions inspection companies ask before getting started.

It lets the inspector scan equipment at the client's site, takes measurement values over from the tester, records pass or fail, produces the report per client and the invoice, schedules the re-inspection, and gives the client a portal with reports.

Those are for the business that owns the equipment: a register, deadlines and blocking on failure. This software is for the inspection company that inspects at many clients: fast inspection, report and invoice per client, and scheduling re-inspections.

If the tester has an export or integration, we pull the measurements from it, so they do not have to be typed in by hand. Which testers you use and what they can supply, we'll look at in the first step.

Equipment that isn't yet known gets a sticker with a code on the spot and is registered with type, brand and model. At the next inspection it is scanned and recognised.

You record the interval per item or type of equipment, in line with the standards and the client's risk assessment. The software schedules the next inspection per client, and can remind the client in good time.

Yes. In a portal, your customer can see the reports, the status of each piece of equipment and when the next inspection is due. That way they don't need to call you.

Check that first. Some testers have reporting software, and it may be enough. Custom development makes sense if you have many customers and inspectors, if reports and invoices are currently produced separately, or if re-inspections are not scheduled automatically.
